Dr. Z - I've played in quite a few golfing fundraisers and run 6 of them, why do you ask?

Zippy5 - we have a difference of opinion. I'm not a golfing purist, so was focusing on raising as much $ as possible. I never cared if a group could shoot a 50 and win as long as we could sell as many mulligans, string, tee busters, etc as they don't cost anything so it's pure profit. If you are a purist, I understand your position and would assume you don't like scrambles in general.

Send your suggestions into the basketball office on how the event could be more enjoyable and profitable; they are receptive to suggestions from my experience.

Of course golfers like scrambles, who do you think invented them? Golfers love all kinds games to compete, that's why they exist. I'm happy to donate, but don't take away the game I love on a day I'm donating my time and my money. Once I give whatever money your asking, I'm ready to play golf. I guess I'm what you call a "purist"....I would just call it golf. The way you describe it, I would rather donate, not show up, and go play golf with my friends on a day I choose to be out of the office. Simple answer, if you need more money, just charge more up front. Golf is a great game, don't ruin it because you can't be creative enough to figure out how to raise x-amount of dollars.

These types of golf outings are not designed for the purist golfer. they are deigned so that fans of every skill level can participate and have a good time. The only Zips outing that is run differently is the one hosted by the golf teams. It's a 4 man 2 best ball format using player handicaps. I'm pretty sure it's a semi annual event that is held at Firestone country club. Last year it was played on the West course. If you are a purest, I would suggest you attend this outing next year. DrZ, when I see Anthony Henderson tonight I will let him know to expect your check in the mail for next seasons BB outing. Then you can take the day off and go play with your buddies. ;)
