Buckzip Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 I predicted this last year. Hopefully he gets the hardship waiver and can play this season. Quote
Kangaroo Craig Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 Former 3 Star (Rivals) recruit. We need help on the O Line. Brown fills an immediate need. Big, strong guy who can move the pile in short yardage situations. Good pass protector too. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 2, 2014 Author Report Posted August 2, 2014 He redshirted in 2011. That means his eligibility runs out at the end of the 2015 season no matter what happens. He'll either get the waiver and play both this season and next, or he'll sit for a year and play in 2015 before graduating. If OSU puts in the good word for him, I think he'll get the waiver. Only question is whether the NCAA moves fast enough that it's granted before the season starts. 1 Quote
Balsy Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 My favorite quote from BuckNuts is "Akron is my pick to win the MAC next year" Quote
Buckzip Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 I don't think OSU can say anything either way. If he can prove he head a hardship for the reason of transferring, he will probably get it. It may be too late though. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 2, 2014 Author Report Posted August 2, 2014 Think Tracy Sprinkle will be next? Quote
LZIp Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 Think Tracy Sprinkle will be next?no. i see him being back on the Buckeyes. Quote
Buckzip Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 Sprinkles charges were dropped and he is only going to be in the doghouse. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 3, 2014 Author Report Posted August 3, 2014 Stay in the doghouse, or come to Akron and get playing time along side your former teammates. Hmm. Quote
Buckzip Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 I agree with you. But he's only a RS freshman. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 One BCS OL in the fold, one to go. Quote
Buckzip Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 no. i see him being back on the Buckeyes.Yep. He's back. They found nothing on him. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 Tommy Brown. Ask me again and I'll knock ya down... Quote
Balsy Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 So it does appear that he's applied...or is applying...for a hardship waiver. Hope it works out for him (and well us too) because he seems like someone we want to have here. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 5, 2014 Author Report Posted August 5, 2014 Tommy Brown. Ask me again and I'll knock ya down...An intriguing blurb at the end: "Senior linebacker C.J. Mizell apparently melted 35 pounds off of his 6-foot-2 frame during a recent visit home, he said. The result is obvious — there doesn’t appear to be a milligram of fat on his body.".Sounds like he's gearing up for an All-MAC season. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 5, 2014 Author Report Posted August 5, 2014 Moms cooking must suck.... She must be a nutritionist or something.I usually gain 35 pounds on a visit to the family. Grandma's Italian cooking will do that to you. Quote
