LZIp
Since this discussion has taken off, I suppose I'll add my 2 cents and try to not be too critical (even though as a member of the media you should be used to criticism). I'll start off by saying I completely understand the business perspective and have zero problems with the number of articles published about the Zips. I do take issue with what seems to be...lack of overall motivation/likeness of covering the Zips. Why do we always have to find out about recruit commitments through Zach doing a random twitter search or why can't statements that any real fan would know be correct (Mizell sitting out last season). Info such as commitments, observations at practice, recruiting targets, etc doesn't have to have a whole article dedicated to it. Tweets get the job done and give the fans that care information. It just comes off as disengaged and GT just covering the Zips because he has to, to me. While they may not be as talented as GT, I thoroughly enjoy reading Hustlebelt much more than ABJ because they are fans who are passionate about their teams and seem to care. Ex- the Penn St- cross blog- Q&A was already done earlier this week by Hustlebelt.

LZIp
At least our glorious opponent Penn State beats us on the embarrassing scale! I have a ton of doubt about the accuracy of that graphic considering Ok St found some loophole to avoid a bowl ban due to grades and are ahead of a lot of teams on that part. Does anyone ever take these seriously? Because they shouldn't. Graphics like this look nice, get you to read articles...but have very little substance. Dave in Green
... This is what a lot of sports fans really want -- fans who are passionate about their teams writing about their teams. This isn't what's taught in journalism classes. Journalists have it drilled into their heads to be objective and not be passionate fans. What's news to the hardest of hardcore fans is not always considered news by professional journalists. Isn't this how ZN.o came into existence in the first place?ABJ Feature on ZipsNation
zen
I think the point about the zips being embarassing on the esteem scale as to why they don't get much coverage is a good one, and explains why you see a headline about them when they get beat by Marshall in the cleveland 'news paper' site, and guess what? Nothing when they win. It's like they revel in supporting the negative perception but pay no attention to the positives.

To think that "news sources/reporters" are not biased is ludicrous.
pdt1420
Read Elton's latest MAC review where he says our gold helmets make us look like r2-d2 on turf. I'm not a Star Wars geek, but wouldn't C3PO have been a better reference. Elton blows.

Balsy
Wow. And Elton get's paid to do that job. No wonder The Plain Dealer is such a joke. If ABJ doesn't be careful, it'll quickly become that way too.
