gozips19 Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 per rivals vincent hill has verbaled with akron after is visit this weekend. this is a great pick up for akron as hill is ranked as one of the top 15 players in the state of md.rivals link Quote
TXZipFan Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 "I don't see any other receivers on their depth chart that concerns me too much,"I think he'll be in for a bit of a suprise, we've got more talent than he thinks at reciever. Great grab though... if he works hard he'll definitely be a contributor. Quote
liljc Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Wow, a 3 star wr who commits to Akron in July! I love it! We have come a long way in a short time, haven't we? Quote

Captain Kangaroo Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 It isn't too much of a surprise that Vince was weighing his options as of July 5th. People I spoke to said he is EXCEPTIONALLY talented and, as word of his abilities spread, there would be heavy pressure from BCS schools to get him to "un-verbal."If the Rivals note is true...and it is the most up-to-date information (July 23rd)...it is a very VERY good pick up for The University of Akron football program. He's a hell of a student athlete. Quote
Zip Watcher Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 He'll end up a 4 star WR for an ACC school before this is all over. Quote
liljc Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Yea, I didn't like the comments he was making. He says he never committed? Anyone know for sure? Quote

RACER Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 hopefully the kid will work out at akron, and turn out to be a great player. it cracks me up how these kids talk. it's ok to be confident, but i have seen time after time how these kids come in highly rated, and never see the feild. how many times has a great high school player went to osu and then through grades injury ect just fade away. hopefully he can back up what he says. gozips19 Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Posted July 26, 2006 i think he should be ok... just by reading the rivals articles it seems like hill's father had a major factor in his verbal with akron despite more "sexy offers". a strong support system for any student entering college is huge. lets hope this is only the start of another great zips recruiting class! I confirmed his verbal today. The article stating he was in Akron with his dad is accurate. He is a strong verbal for the Zips. Thanks to the Zips staff for bringing such a quality student athlete into the program. Matt Cherry should cherish his records while they're there...this new crop of WR's is really going to do some damage in the MAC over the next few years!BTW: Love to Matt...one of my all-time favorite Zips! liljc Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 He sounds like a big play kid. 10 touchdowns as a sophomore and 11 as a junior, with over 40 catches both years. Certainly looks like he got a bright future. Quote
