Jrship35
In saying "Auburn offense" do we mean the one being run now by the Tigers or the one Bowden himself ran at Auburn? I, for some reason, took it to mean the latter but most of the discussion here seems to assume the former.Current Auburn offense .............. Coach Malzahn's variationMultiple formations, personnel packages ........ More balanced run/pass philosophy
LZIp
Whenever I watch Auburn, it seems like they run about 4 different plays out of multiple formations. I cant complain assuming we have the personnel. Shows quite the confidence in the new QB and RB.
Jrship35
You are correct ... multiple formations and personnel and much more up tempo, unlike the current hurry up to the line and spend the next 20 seconds signalling the play (hell might as well huddle up).It all funnels down to the O-Line ................. That my new friends, will be the key Thus the new S&C program built on strength, speed and agility vs pure strength...................... Even at the O-Line positions, those guys need to be able to get to the second level and recover for the up tempo game to be effective......................... Also need a coordinator that can be thinking 4-5 plays ahead of the current play and set up situations to exploit match up advantages .

Buckzip
Does anyone else have a hard time listening to Bowden in his interviews? He stutters quite a bit and it makes him very difficult to listen to.
Balsy
Does anyone else have a hard time listening to Bowden in his interviews? He stutters quite a bit and it makes him very difficult to listen to.Nope. I absolutely love listening to Bowden in his interviews, and I think he says all the right things all the time. Everytime I listen to coach, I feel better about what's going on with our program: he doesn't promise anything, and doesn't sugarcoat anything.

He just has so much going on in his mind, its hard to organize it all.
Buckzip
I agree that I like listening to the honestly. But it's just frustrating with all of the stuttering.

LZIp
TCU's offense with Boykin is fun to watch. Wouldn't mind seeing something like it with Chapman behind center.
Balsy
I feel like our offense was as fast pace from play-to-play when we had DW13. Maybe not as stream lined or as big play breaking as TCU seems to be, but I remember the 2012 offense being the "fastest in the nation" for a time being that year. Jrship35
A large part of the offense is around the H-back position ... On both run and pass plays .... How are we at that spot ?

Big Zip
I'm the furthest thing from an OSU honk, but why can't the SEC not be nearly as good as the pundits have made them out to be instead of OSU not being deserving? I mean LSU lost last night to a mediocre Notre Dame team. Maybe the SEC shouldn't be in the playoffs? I am looking forward to the games tomorrow and I have to wonder what OSU will do if they pull off a win with Jones? There is already talk of Miller transferring to FSU next year. Will Jones transfer too? He threw a ball against Wisconsin where the defensive player hit him as he let go of the ball...he didn't budge and the defensive player ended up on the ground. Reminded me of Rothliesberger. Dude is really freaking big.

skip-zip
I have to wonder what OSU will do if they pull off a win with Jones?Maybe he will join many of his teammates, and see if there is any NFL interest since he claims "we ain't come to play SCHOOL"Besides attending his English classes, I hope he now gets constant reminders of the meaning of the term "Student/Athlete"
LZIp
Think DIG will like this little stat:SportSourceAnalytics @SportSourceA · 1h 1 hour ago Only 3 FBS teams threw the ball 60%+ of the time this year: #WashingtonState #KentState and #TexasTech. Three teams combined record was 9-26 Surprised Can't State is on there.
Dave in Green
LZip, that's a great site for playing the numbers game. Looked through a bunch of items, and the one I got the biggest kick out of was this:There's a salary "bubble" brewing in the #SEC. Not enough W's to go around to justify the salaries. Someone will b left holding the bag.

Dr Z
Love to hear your thoughts on this.Overall, average. The voice over should provide some excitement to match the video. That voice over guy would fit well with education videos or a corporate overview, not a sports team highlight video. At the very least, adjusting the frequency and threshold (reducing the bass) in post production would help slightly. I'm hoping this was some student work.
