Detroit released their OOC schedule

If it wasn't for Antino, I might have gone to sleep before the video was over.

Thankfully, Josh has 4 years to work on his enthusiasm level

That's just Josh. He's as cool as a cucumber; never too high, never too low. Always under control. I think everyone will be surprised at how much his game reminds you of Noah's.

I feel the schedule looks better now than what it looked at the start of the season as teams like Green Bay and Marshall have played better than anticipated. Iona lived up to expectation and UCSB still has chance to make noise in their conference. I still would have liked to see Akron vs. a mid-tier Big 10 or a similar caliber team from another conference even if that meant sacrificing 1 home game to do so.

Overall Akron had a great season, but without a top 50 win on the resume, it cripples any hope for an at-large to the point teams have leaped them in the discussion despite Akron having a better record than them while playing a tougher SOS. It also hinders their chances of getting anything better than a 12 seed the times that they do win the MAC.

This is not the time to be negative and I am really hoping that you will read this a constructive criticism because that is the intention behind it.

Nothing have changed from my end and our OOC scheduling is still terrible. We have a great team and great players, yet we are not taking full advantage of it and here is why:

1 - We don't have a single good win on our resume. Our best win is @ohio (RPI 75) and that is not impressive come selection time. It is automatic bid or NIT for us. I think that we should be better than that.

2 - Our players are under prepared for the big lights because they have not played in a big time arena in front of a hostile crowd. Which will be the case if we hopefully make it to the big dance.

3 - We did not give Joe Akron a reason to come check out Akron at the JAR because we did not play a single interesting OOC home game.

So basically you are saying if the Zips win until the Title Game and Loose. Prey for a Tuesday in Dayton?

And to Point #2: Villanova is NOT exactly stiffs. They played the game........

I hope I am wrong, but I don't think we will get an at large bid if we (God forbid) happen to need one. We experienced it in 2007, 26-7 and the committee said that our biggest win was Kent State. No bid.

And to point #2, you're right, playing at Villanova is a big game under the big lights. I apologize it slipped my mind.
