TennZip Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 zips were #5 last week ; they are #3 this weekhttp://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpihas there ever been a team in the top 25 for RPI...that has not made the NCAA tourney ? (Louisville could do it this year)Western Michigan is up to #56 in the RPIwill be interesting to see where the NCAA seeds Denver (the only team without a loss)...Denver is #18 in the RPI Quote
TennZip Posted November 10, 2015 Author Report Posted November 10, 2015 The NCAA Tournament field, the seeds, and the brackets will be announced on November 16, 2015 at 1 p.m.normally, they do the announcement around 5 or 5:30....article in college soccer news ....says that the field will be announced next Monday at 1 (I assume that is eastern time??) TennZip Posted November 10, 2015 Author Report Posted November 10, 2015 http://www.nscaa.com/rankings/4929/NCAADivisionI/men/Poll11zips stay at #10 in the soccer coaches poll....and Georgetown moves all the way up to #3normally, the zips are higher in the soccer coaches poll...than they are in the RPI.....this year has been unusual.Denver is the team this year....much lower in the RPI Quote
fknbuflobo Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Yeah, but check Denver's weak schedule. Quote
fknbuflobo Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Zips have sorted out the RPI system. Play quality non-con on the road, early in the season. Quote
MDZip Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Zips have sorted out the RPI system. Play quality non-con on the road, early in the season. But you sort of have to beat most of them too Sitting at #3. Quote
fknbuflobo Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Right. Winning is the greatest factor. SOS counts. Away bonus counts. Top 25 bonus counts.Boy, if only we had beaten Old Dominion! Quote
MDZip Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Georgetown's last and only loss at home was to the Zips. Since a little bit of a rough start they have had a tremendous season. Undefeated in the Big East. Quote
TennZip Posted November 10, 2015 Author Report Posted November 10, 2015 Right. Winning is the greatest factor. SOS counts. Away bonus counts. Top 25 bonus counts.Boy, if only we had beaten Old Dominion!Old Dominion has really faded down the stretch. They could be on the bubble for the NCAA. ODU is 34 in RPI and they play Fla. International(FIU) in a 4-5 matchup with the winner facing Kentucky. FIU is 32 in the RPI. I would be surprised if the NCAA took 5 teams in that league.the amazing part about Akron's RPI this year....is the fact that so many teams on their schedule have had down years this year. At the beginning of the year, I would have looked at Akron's schedule and said there is not a sub .500 team on the non conference schedule.our former asst.(now head coach at VCU)....has had a tough year. VCU is 5-9-4 and is 106 in the RPIMike Getman at UAB is an outstanding coach...but UAB is 5-11 and they are 113 in RPIeven Penn State (7-8-3) and Michigan State (8-9-2) finished below .500St. Louis was top 25 at the beginning of the year but is #75 now with a 8-6-2 record Coach Embick and his coaching staff really put together a great schedule.
