ZippyRulz Posted November 29, 2015 Report Posted November 29, 2015 I see we're losing games by 20 points now. What happened? Quote
zippyball Posted November 29, 2015 Report Posted November 29, 2015 I have only seen their scores this year and I was wondering the same thing. They only lost 1 senior last year in Sina King and I know she was a great player but I was expecting tem to be very good again. Quote
mes102 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) They only lost one to graduation, but they lost a few to transferring out. For example, starting freshman point guard, Kerri McMahan, transferred to St. Louis(former assistant coach, Glenn Box, is one of the coaches there. He may have recruited her originally to Akron). Another key transfer is Katie Nunan. She went back home to Fairmont State in West Virginia. Because it's not a DI school, she can play right away and has done well for them so far this season. Huge part of them being undefeated in DII right now. Unfortunately, when that happens and you're playing a lot of freshmen and sophomores as your bench/depth, things aren't going to go well for you. Plus, beefing the non-conference schedule has been another reason for the 20 point losses. This team will get better, but it's hard to overcome the transfers. Edited November 30, 2015 by mes102 Quote
mes102 Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Huge game vs YSU tonight. They have a solid team. Wish #14 was in Blue & Gold instead. She's from my high school alma mater and I enjoyed watching last season's run to the State Semifinals. Quote
mes102 Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) Up 36-21 at the half. Very impressive as this YSU team is 9-1 and only loss came to Penn State by 12-15 pts. They beat k.e.n.t. by 30(91-61). Edited December 22, 2015 by mes102 Quote
mes102 Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Lady Zips win 74-49. They held YSU 21 pts below their average. Great D, and great W!!!!! 1 Quote

ZippyRulz Posted January 2, 2016 Author Report Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) https://youtu.be/yT2fe7Z3Z8Ahttps://youtu.be/GPdcAmVJD14I like the partitioning of the upper level to right-size the JAR for the womens games.Reminder....tonite is a double-header with the women beginning MAC play vs. NIU at 5:00. MDZip Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Ugly loss for the women today. Up by 13 to start the 4th quarter and get outscored 27-10. Ughh. Hope the men's game is a pick me up. Quote
zippyball Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Is Anita Brown injured? She did not play? Quote

Miracle Woods, WMU's leading scorer, also missed the the game for reasons I do not know. Interestingly, neither school's game stories mention anything about either player. Not exactly in depth coverage. Kind of significant news when both teams play without their best player? Quote
MDZip Posted February 18, 2016 Report Posted February 18, 2016 And give them credit when it's due. Beating KSU is always a good thing. 2 Quote
ZachTheZip Posted March 5, 2016 Report Posted March 5, 2016 They finished the season on a 4-game win-streak to finish 17-12 (11-7) and 2nd in the East. They're the 5th seed in the tournament, and will host the 12th seed at the JAR on Monday. Quote
