TennZip Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Looks like Emmanuel right now is one of the 6 young men in the running for the top drawer soccer 18 and under soccer player of the year. As a zip fan, I am very glad that two members of the Chicago Magic team (Jesus Perez and Emmanuel Sabbi) will be continuing to build on their teamwork and success as Akron Zips in the fall. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/club-poty:-sanchez-sabbi-go-international_aid39013 1 Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted March 23, 2016 Author Report Posted March 23, 2016 U.S. Debate: The DeAndre Yedlin dilemma After Friday's game in Guatemala City, Klinsmann will have to decide whether to keep Yedlin and John Brooks with the senior team or have them join the U-23s, who will face Colombia on their second game the same day as the national team hosts Guatemala in Columbus. That decision, Klinsmann said, will come after the results of the first legs are known and he consults with his coaching staff. "Anything is possible," he said, "to be honest." Quote
TennZip Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 in today's 3rd and final game, it looks like Emmanuel was subbed in at the 60 minute mark tweet from baby nats abroad: 60' Subs - Sabbi on for Saucedo, Yueill on for Acosta. I did not get home from work and start watching until the 67th minute. They had Emmanuel playing the middle of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 position. I saw Emmanuel make one good tackle which resulted in a takeaway and could hear someone yell "great effort, Sabbi.". 2.5 minutes Into Stoppage time with the US leading 3-2, Emmanuel had a good run with the ball up the field...but he was 1 on 4....so he was very unselfish and did not try to score and just tried to use up clock. Baby nats abroad tweeted that he was clearly fouled and the German team took the ball and went up and scored shortly before time ran out. Emmanuel might have received a yellow card when he was trying to steal the ball while I was watching (camera was very far away and video was terrible). I did see him make 2 unselfish passes. here is what baby nats abroad tweeted: It ends 3-3 after a horrendous offisides call and then a no-call after Sabbi was clearly fouled. TSG then took it up and equalized. in the 3 games, Emmanuel played 20 minutes, 90 minutes and 30 minutes plus stoppage time.....so over 140 minutes out of a possible 270 and change many of the other forwards have already played in college...Elney from Maryland and Ebobisse from Duke started in the first game. The little I saw today....showed a player who was willing to pass and willing to play defense. I did not get to see Emmanuel much with the ball on the move....but I am very much looking forward to this young man and the other outstanding Akron recruits in the fall. Quote
