If he's not back I wonder what they're going to do? It's really coming back to haunt us that Alex Allen is hurt. Does anyone think they'll burn Aaris Reed's redshirt? Someone needs to step-up if he's out again this week!!!

Jerome Bettis once told Willie Parker, "If you try to run outside, you'll never get there. If you run inside, you'll get outside." Watch NFL games, nobody tries to run outside anymore, and when they do it doesn't work. Most good running backs in the NFL now start outside and cut back between the tackles where there are less defenders and the offensive line has the advantage. Because of the nature of defenses now, running backs are forced to the outside where all the bad guys are waiting for them. They do the same thing in college. The point being that bad shoulder or not, if DK doesn't start to run inside more, he is missing out on a lot of yards. I don't think he has 60 minute speed. Football is a physical game and should be played as such.#29 doesn't seem to be afraid to run inside. I'm not saying he should start, but maybe a little competition is good for the soul (like eating grapefruit and chewing Juicy Fruit). It's a long season and he has proven he can perform when asked to do so. Maybe he has earned more playing time.

Kennedy has proven that when he's healthy he is a complete back. We would be fine had Alex Allen not gotten hurt. I think DK is the best running back on the team that we've seen thus far. There's no way anyone else can lay claim to the starting job if he's healthy whether he runs inside or outside it doesn't matter, that is determined by the playbook. And BTW the guys on the inside are the "bad boys" the outside consists of DB's and OLB's, the inside consists of the SS, DL, and ILB's it doesn't get tougher than that.

with allen out for the year i was worried about our depth at rb. while dk is not the fastest back in world he can get the short yardage, and catch the ball very well. we have no one who can replace that. hopefully the other buys will get the chance this week for some pt.my feeling is if kennedy is not near 100 % healthy sit him out. while every game is important the north teaxas game is not near as important as mac games.

It is not as important from a standpoint of going to the MAC championship game. However, it is Akron's first home game of the year. As much hype as Akron got for beating NC State, if they fall to 1-3 in front of the home crowd, ticket sales and the team psyche may go south. Like most members on this board, I think that this Akron team has a lot of potential and I am still hopeful of another MAC championship. While I wouldn't risk Kennedy for the rest of the season by rushing him back to play, I think that the coaches and players should and will look at every game as important-be it MAC or otherwise.

Per DLMRunning back Dennis Kennedy injured a neck muscle in the first half of the Central Michigan game and played one series in the third quarter. Brookhart said the injury wasn't serious. ``I'm anticipating that he's going to go'' today at practice, he said.
