ZippyRulz Posted August 6, 2016 Report Posted August 6, 2016 Looks good. He may be 6-2 190 lb. by the time he's playing corner (safety?) for the Zips. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 Excellent. These are the player we need to keep home. I don't remember a Zips' recruiting class start filling up so early. Quote
Zipgrad01 Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 Do you guys really think that looks like a D1 highlight video? Quote

According to the article, he got his offer almost immediately after the coaches saw him at a camp. So he is a player with 3 years of starting experience (about to be 4) and physical tools that our coaches love, I am very happy to have him joining UA. Quote

Watching a kid at a camp trumps a highlight video. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted October 8, 2016 Report Posted October 8, 2016 Saw Callaway for the 2nd time last night. I'll say he passes the eyeball test. Legit 6-1 w/ long arms. He doesn't pile up many statistics though because he doesn't play WR (East doesn't really throw the ball, anyway) and he plays corner. If he played S he'd probably be in on more of the game. But, to his credit, he simply covers whoever is out wide & sticks with them like glue. He does all that he's asked to do at a high level. I saw he did blow one coverage last night that went for a TD. There was some sort of miscommunication between he and the S. But that was a mental error; not like being physically overmatched. Idk. He's a good looking athlete (built like current Zip Kyron Brown) who does his (somewhat easy job) at cornerback. That's about all I can say about Callaway. We'll see how it translates to the next level against better WR's & QB's who can really throw the ball. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) Callaway returned a late 4th-quarter blocked punt for a TD to beat Buchtel. East has clinched at least a share of the City Series Championship and, according to the article, it was the first time East had beaten Buchtel in over 2 decades. http://www.ohio.com/sports/high-school/city-series/high-school-football-east-26-buchtel-21-touchdown-on-blocked-punt-lifts-dragons-over-griffins-1.721457 Edited October 23, 2016 by Blue & Gold Quote
