It is nearly impossible for me to believe the range between that teams good and bad performances. But, after following the adventures in Westwood for many season, I am pretty much convinced that Jorge Salcedo lacks what it takes to win a national championship on the field. He gets the best or near-best recruiting class year-in and year-out, yet they continue to be completely inconsistent and frustrating in the PAC-12 and in the post-season under Salcedo. I'm really wondering -- given that Jorge won a national championship playing for UCLA (scoring the winning PK, yet), whether the deciders and fans will put up with this inconsistency and lack of a title much longer. Maybe they will do to him what the Sounders did with their coach who could not produce a champion (former UCLA coach, who won much more consistently), Sigi Schmid. Quote
