My wife is especially excited such a place exists, as she thinks (incorrectly) that this will spare her the soccer lectures It was a bummer to see them concede that goal on a corner after a poor clearance from Lundt. Still, I thought they played reasonably well for the first real outing. A few observations... I'm liking Harter more and more - he's got good instincts in the midfield, served up some nice set pieces and plays with high energy.... Nate Brown was awesome - good physical presence and was key to solving some of UVU's high pressure in the 1st half...Moutinho was outstanding - confident on the ball, excellent first touch, great attacking ability on the flank and his passing game is spot on. welcome..... a midfield of Cordeiro, Harter and Hinds....sounds much better than Cordeiro, Hackworth and Belana Moutinho has been an incredible late addition. Hopefully, Niko can recover quickly from his injury...Moutinho and Brown as the 2 center backs would work well with Nate and Niko Announcers were very complimentary of Nate Shultz last night. Nate's game has really improved over the past few years 1 1 Quote

Ok Sam was out, but Stuart and Ezana were in as well as Egbo. Someone needs to step up. Last night was not one of Ben's best games, and unfortunately, we needed it to be. Hopefully, we'll see better at Denver, but it's going to be tough. I know you were on-site last night, 87. What was the atmosphere like? The box shows 4300 fans! Looked like us playing a road game at the Cub Cadet. The UVU article mentions them playing "perennial national power Akron". It's nice that places as far afield as Orem, UT are aware of our relevance to NCAA athletics. I imagine you'll be in Denver, after the RSL - Avalanche game tonight. Rio Tinto Stadium always looks awesome on TV. I bought a RSL shirt all the way back when Cameron Knowles was a MLS rookie! Also, I noticed on the box that the Wolverines have a player, Diego Serna. Doesn't mention any relation to Dillon, but not sure. Here's the box: http://gouvu.com/boxscore.aspx?path=msoc&id=6032 Quote

Nate's game has really improved over the past few years I believe it is documented somewhere on this forum that I observed Skye Harter as having the best Spring campaign of any Zip. I now rate Harter ahead of #13 at HMF (no offense intended toward anyone). Quote

Folks were very welcoming of the few of us who traveled...Eric and Myra Shultz (Nate's parents), Stu Parry, and me. Great student support. Would love to see our AK-Rowdies get back to the number of students that UVU brought. The crowd was definitely there to support their team vs "National Powerhouse Akron". Very well done and great atmosphere. Great to see Elliott Rubio. Talked to him before the game and he made a point of coming over to talk to me the Shultzes following the match. Very nice young man. He deserves to be their starting GK. Diego Serna is not related to Dillon. I believe he was listed as from Mexico. Yes, I will be at the RSL-Rapids match tonight and travel to Denver tomorrow for the match on Monday night. Edited August 26, 2017 by Zip_ME87 Quote
