MAC Tourney

Recommended Posts

I want Akron and Western Michigan seeded on opposite sides of the bracket. I want an all MAC NCAA Final.  How cool is it that Western Michigan upped their game enough to be in at-large position as well? Loved the comment from the announcer as the game ended - "The Kings are still Kings"!

classy comments from Western Michigan coach on their web site

"Congratulations to Akron, they were fantastic today," said head coach Chad Wiseman. "From the very start we weren't able to disrupt their rhythm and when you play Akron, I believe that is the key if you want to find a result. Our guys competed and played hard, Akron was just better today."

WMU's Giuseppe Vitale, Anthony Bowie and Connor McNulty all earned spots on the MAC All-Tournament team.

"I want to thank Aaron Dykstra and his staff for having the field in unbelievable shape for this week's championship," added Wiseman. "I want to thank Matt Kulik and his staff for all the work they did to make this weekend a special event."

"We will regroup. We know tomorrow at 1 p.m. that our name will be called and there is a great chance we will be a top 16 seed, hosting a second round NCAA Tournament match. Say that out loud. These guys have a lot to be proud of and a lot of soccer still to play."

I doubt top 4, but definitely top 8.

Top 4 is not out of the question. I believe Wake, UNC, and IU are locks for top 4. Next in RPI are Duke, Louisville, Clemson, Akron, WMU, UVa, ND, Stanford, MSU.  If you look at actual records, and weight towards recent results (which the committee seems to have done when they released their top 10 a couple of weeks ago), Akron could well come out on the top of this list.

From your mouth to God’s ears!  So let it be written; so let it be done!
