UAZipster0305
I take a lot of interest in the program's history and implications for public notoriety based on brand recognition of our opponents. Here's who we could realistically face in the NCAAT and who I'd like to see us host, in no particular order: Wisconsin Coastal Carolina Georgetown Maryland Kentucky Louisville UNC-CH Duke UNC-Wilmington Air Force VCU Cal UCLA Any to add? UCLA should not be on your list....they can not make the NCAA tournament due to being sub .500 they are 7-9-1 and only have one game left 1

chris
What about Virginia Tech? I could see the Zips hosting the winner of Wisconsin/Virginia Tech in the second round. Edited November 9, 2017 by chris

That's my point Big Buff....the question was who would we like to host...and I wan to have him come here and bust his soccer balls by beating him in his past residence.....

That would create some drama, and would certainly attract some press coverage and fan interest. That's exactly what we need. 1

No. That ship sailed some time ago and good riddance. I got my satisfaction when the Zips beat his team for the National Championship in 2010. I don't need to see him again.

fknbuflobo
Zips need to focus on beating WMU. It will take the best effort this season to best them in their crib. For decades we have bemoaned the lack of worthy competition in MAC. Well, that day has come. Broncos are really good!

There may be a few among the automatic qualifiers, but for the most part, with only 48 teams out of ~200, any opponent is dangerous. The 2017 Zips need to stop slouching and feeling entitled. It's post season time, and our team needs to show they want it more than their opponent. That was not readily apparent yesterday. This team needs to be reminded of the drive that the 2009 team. That team brought it every single game....no losses or no ties in the regular season and no goals allowed in 5 NCAA tourney games. That team had talent......but they also wanted it every single time that they were on the field.

Yes, the stupid NCAA rule book declares all matches tied after the 2nd OT as draws except the National Championship match. So, although the 2009 Zips never lost a match in the run of play, they technically lost the National Championship match.

UAZipster0305
As a carry-over from one of the other threads, I do and I don't want to play UVA. Their style to put 11 behind the ball to tie and advance on PK's is everything pure soccer fans hate about college soccer. It is the anti-Porter approach to the beautiful game. I'd love to play UVA to knock them out; however, I also know (from 2009 and recent games) how effective that tactic can be.
