I am a little stunned that they just held their first practice, today.

Man, 247Sports is really behind on keeping up with Zips verbal commitments. They're missing at least half of the ones we know about here on Zipsnation.

It's a also a little stunning that Kiffin has just started getting commitments in the last week. He hasn't held practices or recruited. What has he done with his time? Interviewed for other jobs?

The Browns are rumored to be in the market for an offensive coordinator...

Really strange.  It's like everyone believes that he already has one foot out the door.

I read on some article, can't remember where, that Kiffin and his coaches were out recruiting and therefore could not hold practice. The Zips seem able to do both.

Is it 247 or the fact that our recruits don't have profiles on their site?

This is a legit question. From my observation, unless a kid goes to a big school with lots of other recruits, he will stand a good chance of staying off the 247 Sports radar.

Someone forgot to tell Gildersleeve that you don't where white shoes after Labor Day.

You ever been to Florida and seen the outfits?

I don't think that rule applies down there

Ice Cube is a commit to FAU?

I'm sure Sr doesn't have any eligibility and Jr is probably in studio or on a set. =)

How'd you like to grow up with that name though? That'd be interesting

OOOOH  you got me....you did beat the juggernaut Buffalo.  Congrats!  Where you guys displaying your Conference Championship Trophy?  Oh, never mind...did you even think you could beat Toledo?

And this is when we say, it's time to grow up.  Have a little class.

Hopefully you will have some class; and if Akron upsets FAU you'll come back and congratulate the Zips on their victory.  And if Akron loses to FAU, you will come here and talk up the Zips and wish us well in the future.

I have a feeling you won't.  Because so far your comments have been, rather childish.

So FAU has missed 10/15 of it's additional practices?  I'm assuming we've had all of our additional practices?

Recipe for an upset?

It’s old school / new school.  Most your younger guys have a lot less padded practice with less contact to try & stay healthy.

What you get is healthier players without good technique.  Which is more important?  Most believe health because of depth unless your at a powerhouse with very little drop off

Doubtful you got all 15 in, the most any team could squeeze in would probably be 10. There was only 15 days between the day the game was announced and gameday. Kiffin did hold a couple practices before Thursday, but it wasn’t gameplan practices toward Akron.

Because of finals it was tough for the team to squeeze any more practices in, and like the one poster above said it was also used to let the team get it’s legs back. Kiffin utilizes a little different practice schedule the team actually does it walk thru practice two days before game, and not typical day before. Then day before does a very uptempo practice.

They also used used the last two weeks for very heavy recruiting. Most of the coaching staff has been on the road to get ready for early signing day. Since the bowl game is actually a de facto home game they are utilizing this weekend for official visits on campus.

Hopefully this isn’t called “apologetic” just thought I would shed some light on everything.

So did Akron, don’t know if true but heard we practiced full go all week for MAC Championship & Toledo went shells all week, 2 completely different approaches, I’m not claiming either one is correct just saying a lot of programs have cut the intensity & it has been driven from the Pro’s
