Hilltopper Posted March 24, 2018 Report Posted March 24, 2018 https://www.ohio.com/akron/sports/university-of-akron/university-of-akron-football-former-zips-star-jerome-lane-seeks-second-chance-for-nfl-career Quote Offensive lineman Jovann Letuli likely opened some eyes with his athleticism. Letuli put up 225 pounds on the bench press 30 times and ran a 5.1 in the 40-yard dash, according to those who timed him. Both of those numbers would have put him among the top performers among offensive linemen at the recent NFL Scouting Combine. Quote Wide receiver Austin Wolf, 6-2, 205 pounds, packed on 15 pounds of muscle in time for the day and still ran a sub 4.4 40-yard dash in one of his two attempts. The other clocked him at about 4.5. Considering those times are comparable or better than most of the receivers at the combine, he might find himself with some interest. “It’s been three years since I ran the 40, so running that shocked me,” he said. Quote Former Zips center Stephen Ericksen might be the longest of long shots, but it would seem long might represent his way to get a shot at playing pro. Ericksen produced respectable numbers, but when the regular festivities were over, one scout asked him to do a long-snapping drill. Quote
