zippypitt
I like what I saw in the 1st half. Good ball control, excellent strike by Egbo, and defense looks much improved with Muhammad on the right side.

"To win playing in this heat and to manage the game as we did and to not allow many chances, that takes toughness and a collective effort. We are starting to find our identity and our mentality is growing, we just need to keep pushing ourselves."
Zip_ME87
Not only was it hot, but it was humid. Very uncomfortable just sitting and watching. Had to be really tough for the players. Great win on the road!!! Nice turnout of Zips fans, including Blair Gavin (2009 College Cup Zips), Saad Abdul-Salaam, and Tom O’Rourke (1986 College Cup Zips). DeAndre Yedlin’s grandparents (who raised him and nurtured him through the soccer development process) were also there. As were a number of other Zips fans whom I did not know. GCU sat us behind our bench which provided a very nice, supportive atmosphere for our team! So proud of the progress they have made. Keep it going! Go Zips!!! TennZip
https://gculopes.com/news/2018/9/20/mens-soccer-msoc-gcu-akron.aspx "It was a defense that was no-nonsense," said GCU head coach Schellas Hyndman, who noted that the Akron defense was the best his team has seen this season. "They didn't make any mistakes for us to capitalize on." "It wasn't just a good defense from Akron," Hyndman said. "It was good overall play. They didn't give us a lot of opportunities. Whenever they were put under pressure, they were able to deal with it."

Nice trip, despite the heat (their women's team faced the same that night in Hawaii). Mahalo for the description! Just wondered what the GCU crowd size was. The stadium seats 6500! 2 yrs old. And of course the legendary Shel Hyndmann in the coaches box.
