Captain Kangaroo Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Antwon Hight apparently became tired of his factory job and is enrolled at UA this fall. That would be a HUGE lift to our 2007 DL...should he stick with it. Quote
zff Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Working a tough job can help to change your mind about college..........I wonder if Mr. Brinson had something to do with it...... Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Yeah, that's great. But I've pretty much lost faith in most of JD's recruits ever making it to campus, staying in school and being academically eligible, let alone actually playing a down for us. Quote

Blue & Gold Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Yeah, it sucks. Check out the recruit list from the last 2 years. A lot (most?) of the top recruits don't make it academically. Off the top of my head - Marlon Terry, Antwon Hight (hopefully this changes), Mark Jackson, Jerrel Stoudemire, D.J. Henderson, Terrico Marshall, Andre Boone, Shawn Lemon, J. Sharps and Derron Smith, and if you've got time, check the list, there may be more - like I said, this is just off the top of my head. It's rather depressing. Perhaps someone with better info than I have may have some encouraging updates on some of these players? Quote

He's hoped to enroll in January.Stoudemire is taking classes, as is Lemon. DJ Henderson won't be a Zip. Quote
Buckzip Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I see the rest of you are noticing what I have been saying for over a year now. The real grade of a recruting class isn't on signing day. It is usually a couple years down the road. Or, in our case, the first game of the followong season. On signing day these guys make our classes look good. However, in reality, they are average at best. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Stoudemire is taking classes, as is Lemon. DJ Henderson won't be a Zip. Excellent! So Stoudemire is enrolled, eh? He looked awfully impressive on film. But what happened with DJ Henderson? Academics? Quote

TXZipFan Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 That's a bummer about Henderson... he was one of the recruits I was most excited about. Quote
