akronad
If there wereractually 7,000 bodies in the stands, I would be surprised. Don't be surprised if we make the the NCAA average attendance requirement at 15,001.
Balki Bartokomous
Carlton Jackson was only allowed to throw the ball twice. one being a screen pass ... but I will tell you what. He threw a 40 yard bomb, perfect spiral, off of a bootleg. the ball would have been caught if Buffalo didn't interfear (it was called). That one pass has made this whole season worth it ... CJ is going to be amazing.also, that "14,500" attendence thing. BULLSHIT. maybe if they counted the band 15 times. ughh.

Z-P
Actual attendance was no more than 2,000. At kickoff, there were only 1,000 in the seats excluding the band. Trust me on this. And yes, I'm sorry to report it................I sat by a recruit and was all over him to ignore the attendance.........I really built up the program, and I'm positive he and his coaches were satisfied and enthusiastic about UA with what I told them..............See..............this is the unreported downside of a BS schedule and underperformance. Brotha i am sure I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate the effort, some people would have the nerve to do what you did. It seems like we are always on an uphill battle...I can't wait for the day it is Akron playing at home in front of 45K ranked #15 in the nation and upset a #3 opponent. I can only imagine what our ranking would have been had we won out since the N.C. State game. This schedule didn't do us any favor ( or we just don't play well away since those are our only loses but..) we still need to over come these things. We need 90% or more recruits to actually attend UA..AND PLAY!!I think we need better assistant coachesWe need a complete overhaul in special teamsWe need to play more consistentWe need less penaltiesWe need a new stadiumWe need more fan supportSo far the only thing we have taken off the list is signing JD's contract. let's knock off some more of these things before we have to add find new head coach to that list. Ballingirl
What a game. Our red zone offense is absolutely horrible!!! 1st and 5 and we can't punch it in! It was good to see a mix of plays in the 1st half. And IT WORKED!!! We were on a roll in the first half. Why change things in the second half? We came out of the locker room and decided to try the same old plays that never work. If it's not broken, DON'T FIX IT!!!! Nice move by Stec to get the first down! He dropped it, but it was a low snap too! Then to his punt in the 4th. I have never seen a 5-yard punt, out of bounds! That was embarrassing! Defense played a good game. There were a few dumb moves, but overall, very good. Thanks for yet another penalty, Crouch! A big one too. And about CJ, can I just say DAAAAAAMN!!!! What a bomb he threw! Was incomplete due to the pass interference, which was called, but what a pass! It was a perfect spiral and right where it needed to be! I think he's going to do big things! Can't wait 'til next year! He did a nice job in the pocket. QUICK FEET! Boy's got speed! i wish we had some easy games left to see more of what he can do! I think after that performance, the Akron fan following may have a new favorite in mind! Another favorite may be Andre Walker. He's another up-and-comer! Nice performance, good things to come! Can't wait til next Thursday to see what we can bring against OU. Can I just say that I hope they come out more excited than they did last night! We looked like we just didn't care coming out of that locker room. No excitement, no fire, nothing. I was afraid we were going to see another Toledo! They better find the fire for next week, or they will get their asses handed to them!GO ZIPS!
blueandgold
"Then to his punt in the 4th. I have never seen a 5-yard punt, out of bounds!"That sucked, but ask the CANT punter about his 7 yarder followed by his -4 yarder against Ohio!!!! Who does that past the age of 8? ZachTheZip
According to our A.D., we have over 4,500 season tickets this year. That has to help the attendance tremendously.
Dr Z
He threw a 40 yard bomb, perfect spiral, off of a bootleg. the ball would have been caught if Buffalo didn't interfear (it was called). That one pass has made this whole season worth it. That is the pass I have been waiting to see. I agree, that gets me excited for next year.Hope to see another big lead at home so we can see CJ again this year. That seems to be the only way he is getting in.PS Getsy had a great game. Plus the offensive line protected well.
Z-P
Just among us sluggies, I'm standing by my 1K at KO and 2K max overall.
Z-P
One more thing.............there were more butts in the seats for the Ice Game against the Flushes last year.............
Zip N' Dots
Z-P is right. The people in the beer garden out numbered those in the seats. All together maybe 2,500 people. But luckily we have 4,500 season ticket holders that can be counted whether they show up or not!
TXZipFan
Yea CJ's pass was definitely purdy, wish we coulda seen more. Harvey is THE MAN!!!
Lee Adams
nice to see some reality here...'ballingirl' has it.. CJ threw a beaut...get him on the field...get the D off they can't tackle or stop the run...at 10 games in the coaches/players shouldn't need to burn TO's to get organized.. there's some coaching/discipline issues on this team...play the OU game like its your Bowl game...cause it issee you in Athensakronoldtimer
Ballingirl
I've said it before, and I'll say it again....our D is better at stopping the run than they are at stopping the pass. Our secondary is aweful. As I said in the other post, our corners have been getting burnt all season. And in order to win the game, you have to have offense. And we don't...most of the time. Our offense is so sporatic. I walk into every game nervous....just hoping that it's a day the offense decides to show up. The only games they have shown signs of life were the NC State game, Bowling Green and Buffalo. And the latter 2 were against bad defenses. Points are what wins a game....and we need to learn how to get them! Our red zone play is horrible. D has had their fair share of mistakes, but let's be realistic....our main concern is our offense...at least until next year.
