johnnyzip84
I know the weather could be a factor, but how about this for an offensive gameplan. I say we put Getsy in the situation where he has proven to be the most comfortable. Let's go no-huddle, 2-minute drill right from the start to try to dictate the pace against the Bobcat D. Normally I would like to see Kennedy being featured early, but versus what is probably the MAC's best defense, I think we need to do something other than just line up and see who has the best line play. Getsy has shown to be superb in this role in the past, and I frankly have been a little disappointed not to see this tactic used more often this year. I think Kennedy could still get yardage using this approach, but it would be more like establishing the pass to set up the run. I realize it's a gamble, in that if it does not work right away the Zips could be down big early. But I think it's worth the risk to try to "steal" this one. Any thoughts? bigzipguy
I agree with trying the no-huddle right away. In fact OU might do it to us right away.
Ballingirl
I agree with the no-huddle attack! I will give the game a little quicker pace, maybe catch the OU D off guard some. Also, it's sure to save us from another delay of game penalty that we have seen quite a few times this year!
Captain Kangaroo
I think we will have trouble running the ball. Kennedy always wants to go outside, and there's no way he's going to turn the corner against OU's D on a wet field. To win:1.) We need to be motivated. We have a tendency to come out flat to begin games and that will hurt at OU.2.) Luke needs to toss for 300+. Screw the weather, we need to throw the ball to have success. Jabari could be huge in this game. I expect double coverage on Harvey.3.) Need to keep trowing balls to Poindexter and Kaz. 4.) We need to rediscover our run defense. I think we will struggle here, because OU runs inside the tackles so well and we typically place our undersized LB's on the line. If Fleming doesn't use 4 beefy guys on the line, OU should move the ball against us pretty easily. Our LB's speed will be negated tonight. Can Fleming adjust after 10 weeks?5.) Stec needs to have a good game. The ball will be slippery. He needs to field punts cleanly and get the ball off quickly. 6.) 9+ penalties will doom us. We need to play good, fundamental football.7.) Inside the 5 yard line, give it to Kennedy. And if that doesn't work, give it to him again. If we play like we have all season...I see us losing 17-11. If someone duct tapes Crouch to his hotel room floor prior to kickoff:..I see us winning 20-17.
OZoner
I agree with trying the no-huddle right away. In fact OU might do it to us right away. Unlikely. We don't have the personnel to pull that off. I know the o-linemen absolutely hate the no-huddle. Plus, you need to be able to pass the ball to make it work... you know how awesome our air attack is.A no-huddle against us is a pretty good idea. I think Illinois used it successfully against us. Balki Bartokomous
I know the weather could be a factorGametime weather (according to TWC) damn ... I hope John Mclaine brought some water wings. He is only like 4 feet tall. If it rains as much as it is supposed to, he might be washed away. gozips19
i would like to see no huddle to start but i don't think akron should stick with it unless they are on a roll. akron has way too many three and outs and with a ball control team like ohio it could wear out the D. i hope the coaches pull out all the stops though and take this win and i come luke finally plays well in the rain!
