MRO_chick Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Our recap of the busy day of bowl announcements, press conferences and an update on potential opponents: http://www.macreportonline.com/bowl_berths.html Quote
skip-zip Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 A reminder that we wasted a great opportunity in the last two weeks of the season, even if we were not going to win the MAC. Quote
RowdyZip Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 not really...cuz NIU would've been chosen over the zips cuz of mr. Wolfey. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Despite our disappointing season, I'm happy for the 4 teams that are going. This makes up for a few years when NIU was worthy but left at home. Plus, Can't isn't one of the 4 teams...... Quote

NIU will have their hands full with TCU, and the others should equate to 3 MAC bowl wins. All four teams will represent the MAC well. Quote
scottditzen Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Man, if somebody told me that the MAC would have FOUR teams going to bowl games this year, and that Akron wouldn'tbe one of them, I would've said they were crazy.I may be in SD so what the heck, I may check out the Northern Ill game. johnnyzip84 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 How true!! If I had one more chance to see Wolfe, I'd definitely take advantage of that. Quote
Z-P Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Someone say they wanted to see Wolfie?http://www.anthonytravel.com/poinsettiabowl2006.cfm Quote
skip-zip Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Rowdy... You're probably right. NIU would have gotten that bowl bid over us because of the draw that Wolf brings. However, if we had won our last two games, and been 7-5, and had just beaten WMU, we probably would be going to the International Bowl instead of WMU. Quote

skip-zip Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I LOVE that Can't is staying home. It's the only real enjoyment I got out of this season. I remember walking out the Dix Stadium, and watching all of the Can't fans thinking that they were going to win the MAC. It's sweet to think about how they must all feel now. Quote
