Captain Kangaroo
Penn Hills' Aaron Williams has verballed to the Zips. He'll likely play LB, but was a devastating RB too. I saw two Penn Hills games on Fox Sports Pittsburgh this fall. The "Big School" (like Ohio's Division 1) semi's and the finals. Williams was a man amongst boys in both games.Click for Rivals BioBTW - Same HS as David Harvey, Jake Schifino & Coach MoorheadGreat Pick up!!!!!!! Zipmeister
I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but why is a Rivals 2-star a "HUGE verbal?"
Captain Kangaroo
I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but why is a Rivals 2-star a "HUGE verbal?" Simply based upon what I saw from the kid. Anyone can put together a 30 second highlight reel of big hits/runs over the course of a year. This kid made the AAAA State semi's and finals his highlight reel. He stood out amongst a lot of great HS players.Trust me - You will love him. johnnyzip84
Both he and Penn Hills teammate DE Joe Rash were 2nd team all-state in Penna Quad-A. I'd like to think that having HS teammates playing on the same side of the ball should help with team chemistry.
ziplock
Interestingly, he is a three star prospect on Scouts.com, listed as the 23rd best weak side linebacker prospect in the country. He was one of the Pittsburgh paper's "Fab 22".I know that there is a lot of debate about the recruiting services and their ratings (and whether or not this all translates into scholar athletes that can compete and maintain eligibility), but it looks like a great pick up to me too. Also reportedly offered by Buffalo and Toledo.Way to go Zips!!Go Zips

gozips19
that is huge as he's the first true LB to verbal. this is a thin pos. for akron and williams should have a chance to get on the feild quickly. are any DE pospects like Shead projected to switch to LB? rocketfootball
Rivals is showing him as an Akron commit now. He had some interesting things to say. It sounds like he came to Akron over Toledo because he thought he could play early and thought UT would be a distraction......I assume because of former high school teammates Barry Church, Archie Donald, and Tyrrell Herbert. He said that Toledo seemed "too perfect" and he felt like he would just have fun and not do his school work if he went to Toledo. Now that's one excuse I've never heard before. To much fun at UT???????? Once again, congrats on getting Williams.
