Zips OL Recruit Gone M.I.A?

Word is Paul Simkovich received a scholarship offer from Miami a couple days ago...and not the RedHawks. So far, he's still coming to Akron...but Miami's going to work on him for a weeks and a half.

Jarvis Givins got an offer from UNC and was there over the weekend. The Zips need him for next year....

This is the "leaky ship" period for any MAC school with tentative recruiting coups. Just hope the sharks go hungry. Has anyone heard anything about the big OL from Painsville, Jeff Spikes? He seems quite interested in Akron, and if Simkovich jumps, Spikes would help ease the loss.

He is saying on scout.com that it will be between AKron and Illionis. He will make a decision but it will not be announced until sigining day....

Painesville Harvey, according to Scout.com.He is listed at 6'7" and 310 lbs. Offered by Southern, Toledo, Kansas, BG, Ill-annoy and the Zips.We can always use a big guy like this young man.Irrespective of the Simkovich situation, I hope we can grab him.Go ZIps!!

Spikes is a common name in the Ville -- there has to be at least 100 who have graduated from Harvey in the past. Most always good athletes, basketball and track mostly and never this big.
