Chicago State @ Akron - November 2nd

Akron and Western Michigan will finish as the top 2 teams in the MAC regular season

   They will meet on November 12th (location to be determined) to decide the MAC automatic qualifier for the NCAA tourney

Western Michigan   2   Bpwling Green 0

Akron 4 Chicago State  0   (credit to the Chicago State goal keeper for keeping the game very close for the first 65 minutes...their GK had an outstanding game)

 

Akron improves to 5-0-2 in the MAC.....17 points

Western Michigan is now 5-1-1 in the MAC ....16 points

 

Sunday November 6th....at 6 pm

Western Michigan plays at Akron

   with a win or a tie, Akron will win the MAC regular season title and host the title game on Saturday November 12th

 

Western Michigan has to win against Akron on the 6th...to host the titel game

Bowling Green is now 3-2-2 and they can only finish 3rd in the league.

RPI update...as a result of Wednesday night games

 

during the zips game (as of 8 eastern)

zips were #11 in RPI

Opponent SOS                                 42

 

SMU was #12   at .6101

Penn was #13  at .6100

 

   at 7:25 Thursday morning

zips dropped to #15 to RPI....after playing Chicago State for 2nd time

14. UNC-G         .6067     ....I think that former zip Marco Milanese plays for Greensboro

SOS  dropped from  #23 to #48........thanks for Nothing, Mid American conference...2 games against Chicago State ????    stop sponsoring soccer, mid american conference !!!

opponent SOS dropped from #42 to #49

 

Western Michigan is up to #40 in RPI

their record is 13-2-1

   if the zips can get 2 more wins against WMU, that should be be decent in RPI  (bear in mind that #16 Pittsburgh, #17 Oregon State , #18 FIU and #19 Maryland, #21 Marshall ; #22 Loserville and #23 Wake Forest...could be playing highly ranked teams in their conference tourneys)
