Balki Bartokomous Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Anyone else watching this game? Butler is down 3 with 32 seconds left.I don't know if i can live in a world where the freaking Horizon League gets two bids. Quote
Balki Bartokomous Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 Oh thank god. THANK GOD the Horizon League has two bids. The freaking Horizon League. I was worried they would only get one. Maybe Cleveland State will take an at large bid.On a side note, how the hell is Butler ranked 17th? Akron would kill them. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Man with 2 bids for the HL i don't see any chance for the MAC to get 2. By the way, why did Butler and Wright state play at Wright state ? That's a huge advantage... Immagine if the MAC tournament is played at the JAR. Quote

The MAC tourney was held at the Seagate Center in Toledo prior to moving to Cleveland...and it didn't do much good for the Rockets. I don't think they've won the MAC in hoops in about 26 years.F Wright State in the Skull. Quote
Guzijeff Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 They have had it at the Nutter Center at Wright State for many years. I've been to a few games there since that is where my brother went to school. Their motto was "Wright State, Wrong College"Anyway, the Nutter Center is a very nice and quite large facility. And unlike the JAR, they sell BEER there at all regular season Wright State Games. And you don't have to stay corraled in an area to drink it. You can take it back to your seat. What a concept..... johnnyzip84 Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 By the way, why did Butler and Wright state play at Wright state ?I believe that Wright St. and Butler had the same conf records and they split the regular season, so I have to think that Wright St. had the tie-breaker somehow, because they were the #1 seed.I agree that Butler doesn't belong in the top 25. They appear to be fading, with all of those "quality" wins coming very early in the schedule. But, I'm sure they'll still get a bid. I think the Zips could definitely compete with them. Quote

Yes, it is on campus grounds. They opened it by brothers Junior year. They hold quite a bit of events there and I would imagine the beer sales help pay for some of it. I can't remember specifically who Erwin J. Nutter is (the guy the building was named for).Interesting tidbit: I do know that they do not have a football team because one of the co-founders (or one of the top money giving Alum) had a son or nephew or something that was seriously injured playing football. Thus, no football there. Students have wanted a football team for years, but it ain't gonna happen. So, teh basketball team gets all the money. One ofthe reasons the Nutter center is so nice. Quote
