Zipgrad1990
I read the comments on the website you listed-At least a number of people realize it would be better to have BQ sit for all or most of this season. Other idiots slam Frye and think he is worthless. A guy who had no offensive line and is still a young qb without a vetern qb to mentor him and Frye only has what 18 starts and that makes him worthless? This is a make or break year for Frye, if nothing else to get another team interested in trading for him.I wish the Browns would have waited until next year to pick up a qb (if Frye doesn't pan out). But supposedly next years qb crop is weak. Assuming Frye is the starter for the beginning of the season one bad game and the BQ chants will come out. Hopefully Frye does well or it will be a tough year for him!
skip-zip
Ya gotta love Charlie Frye.I already went into my rant on another thread about how well he rates compared to other star QB's in their first year as a starter, and the fact that he had no running game or OL. So, I will spare you those facts again and concentrate on this...What kind of man would you have to be to take the butt kicking he's taken by being on a crummy team, and now accept that you've been a "temporary" QB in Cleveland's rebuilding process until they found their "franchise" (yet to be determined) quarterback? And to sit back and watch as they make improvements to the offensive line and realize that you will probably never get to see the fruits of your labor? And beyond that, who would be man enough to take the "we want Brady" chants that will be echoing from the stands every time he steps on the field next year?It will be a tough year for him. But that is football. And I assure you, Charlie is no Tim Couch. He won't cry. He loves to play football, will accept the circumstances, will compete like heck, and will handle it professionally. Whatever happens...happens. And I wish him the best of luck.
Dr Z
I wonder what kind of contract superman could sign if the Browns cut him.I realize that's not happening, but I wonder what kind of contract he would get.I wonder which teams called? Buckzip
Every year multiple QB's go through what Charlie is gpoing through. They were mid round draft picks that got a chance on a horrible team, but then became expandable as the team improved. Charlie is not the only NFL QB going through this.Maybe this will work out like Brees and Rivers did in SD. We can only hope.
ZachTheZip
I just listened to an interview with Phil Savage on the radio. One of the questions asked was how soon Quinn would start. Savage answered that it was more of a coaching decision, but the QB spot is open right now. There will probably be an open competition before the season starts. He didn'r mention trading anyone becausethe Browns now have some depth at the position, whereas if they traded one of the QBs they would be thin at that spot again. Sounds good. I like Charlie's chances in this. He should get the nod at the beginning of the season based on experience. If he screws up even once, or throws a single interception fans will call for his head, but right now Frye's destiny is in his own hands. Very true. Winning cures just about everything, unless you're Rex Grossman.

Just goes to show how stupid the Browns are. They signed their franchise QB. They should trade Charlie while they can get something for him. I am a Charlie Frye fan and feel that he was not given a chance here in Cleveland. But, now the media and many fans will be so down on him that he has little chance of having any success here. I think it would be best for both Charlie and the Browns to trade him.
Buckzip
Trading him now would be a mistake. His trade value will go up in training camp when some other teams have an injury that will force them to find someone.
Dr Z
If Trent Green is worth a fourth rounder right now, what is Charlie?
