zff
I was listening to rivals radio on sirius and they were talking to the father of Zach Frazer . Zach will be a redshirt freshman at Notre Dame next year. He was told this week that he has zero chance to start at QB next year and is possible looking to transfer. Akron is one of the schools his father mention because they showed interest when he came out of high school. Do the Zips listen to this kid if he calls? Do you want to add another QB to the mix? Zach will be looking to go some where that he can play for three years. Can you turn down a 4 star QB that wants to play for your school? blueandgold
The Zips better not wait for him to call. Call him!!! Nothing is set in stone at QB and you would have to think if he is a four star QB he can win the starting job here. Obviously he would have to sit until the 08 season, but so what. If he actually has some interest then make it happen JD!!!
Dr Z
You beat me to it ZFF. Here is a link to a story on him
Zipmeister
I think you may be advising JD to violate NCAA regulations B&G.
InTheZone
Not if the kid has gotten a release. I say we go get him. A lot of people on this board want to get excited about what we've got at QB, but the bottom line is we don't have a GREAT QB. What we do have is 3 decent QB's who are capable of starting, which is more than most MAC teams, but we don't have a guy who's going to go into a game and win it with his arm. If there's a 4 star QB that wants on our roster I say we find a way to get him here.
Zipmeister
I'm just not sure "is possible looking to transfer" means a release has been obtained.
liljc
Zach's father stated that a release had not yet been obtained. He also mentioned Penn St. and Michigan as schools that had made offfers to Zach in the past. It sounded like the release would be granted, and then Zach would begin looking for a program. All contacts at this time must be made thru his high school coaches to avoid NCAA violations. Go get him, JD!
timmyboy
I watched this kids highlight film on rivals. He is a very solid player and would make a great addition to any team that got him. I seen this story on Yahoo about Zach like 2 weeks ago and it did mention Akron as a school that he would like to look into if the release was granted. I dont know that his legs are as good as Jacksons or Hakes, but his arm is what has impressed colleges. I think we will have to wait until after this season to see how our "stable" of QB's do and then make a choice on if we want to add another one or not because remember we did offer Dominik Britt of Trotwood and ive seen on both rivals and scout that he is high on Akron..... Britt has the Legs of Jackson and the arm of Frazer.
AZipsCrazy
Britt has the Legs of Jackson and the arm of Frazer. You should probably say the legs of Hakes now... my friend who works with the team told me Hakes had a faster 40 time this spring. I was pretty shocked! I was pretty shocked! you have to take into consideration that jackson was coming off an off season injury to hit foot that required him to wear the protective boot for over a month. Im sure that when he gets his legs back under him an back to his old form, he will be back to running the 4.5's again.

Jackson ran a 4.8 in the Spring of '06 coming off a year of redshirt workouts and no injuries. Jackson is quick and athletic, but he doesn't have blazing straight line speed. You have to take high school 40 times with a grain of salt. Some are legit, especially for more highly touted prospects, but for a guy like Jackson who wasn't that heavily recruited many times that "4.4" or "4.5" is in reality a 4.7 or 4.8. 40 times are overrated in my opinion anyways though. I played with guys who ran 4.8's that played with more "game speed" than workout freaks running 4.3's.

Just sad we let him slip away because in the future, he will be a great player.

Apparently, every other Division 1 coach took a pass on Dan Dario as well. He is signed at D2 Fairmont State in WV.http://www.fightingfalcons.com/page.cfm?st...&cat=exclusives

Duke was after him hard, and Northwestern was also very interested. he just flat out chose farimont st because he felt he was a better fit an he likes the staff more.
