Captain Kangaroo
Word on the street is the Zips Stadium Press Conference will be broadcast around 11:30am Wednesday on 1350AM.
ZachTheZip
I thought it was at noon. I'll be at Quaker Square, where I am pretty sure this announcement is being held. If anyone know any more details, nows the time to let everybody know. Help build up some buzz in the community.

GoZips88
I called the ticket office this afternoon and was told that it will be held in the ballroom of the Student Union at noon. The guy I talked to even put me on hold so he could make sure that what he was telling me was correct.Local paper ...

Dr Z
Well, at least the leakin' had a story on the stadium today. How about a drawing to go with the story!??!?!? I guess that's the best you get when you let a YSU fan write "sports" for the
joshgozips
Dr Z - I picked up a copy of the actual newspaper this morning and in that edition there is actually a good size picture of the rendering we saw a few weeks ago that goes along with the story. GoZips88
I just called the U of A athletic department and was told that the press conference in the ballroom of the Student Union would begin no earlier than 11:30AM and could begin a bit later than that if the board meeting runs long. The press conference is open to the public and those planning to attend should park in the parking deck closest to route 8 (due east of the JAR). For those of you who can't attend in person, click HERE to go to the U of A Live Event Webcast of the press conference. I don't believe the webcast is password protected but I don't know for sure. The Board of Trustees meeting is also available LIVE ON THE WEB. skip-zip
The reason there probably has not been a "buzz" about this board meeting is because, as we expect, we are just going to hear that the board has approved the stadium proposal. ZachTheZip
I'm in the student Union right now. Lots of important people everywhere. MAC officials, the usual UA people, and suprisingly few press members. I was hoping for this to at least be in the ABJ and the Plain Dealer, maybe the Repository if we're lucky, and possibly one news station other than Channel 3 (they seem like the only station to cover us regularly). Hopefully I just haven't seen them yet. I'll try to keep you updated on what's going on if I can.

ZachTheZip
It sounds like they're determined to have a bridge to the fieldhouse. Lowest bidder gets the job.

If not this year, then for sure next year when guys will be able to see it going up and knowing they will be in it by their second year at UA.Great job. ZachTheZip
Listening to Mack Rhoades talk to Steve French on the way back from there, he mentioned that you can call the Athletic Office to donate and that there will be a website that will track the progress of the stadium. Only problem is that he never mentioned what the Athletic Office's phone number was or what the website URL is. I know today is a busy day for him, but come on. If you want donations, at least tell people where to go to donate.Other than that, everything was great. The whole event was awesome, and really has me excited. 2 years. That's it. Just two years. ZachTheZip
I hope that they put up a webcam on top of the student union or somewhere really high that looks over the proposed stadium area. Watching it get built live on the web would really help when I'm bored at work.
