Ziptastic Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Sorry it's been a while, but what was the deal with harvey and lindsay?? and when will students be able to purchase student tickets for the Army and Ohio State game??? Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 talked to the ticket office the other day. army tickets are on sale now, and ohio state tickets they haven't officially announced a date, but will probably be the first week of school to give all students a chance to be on campus to purchase tickets. student prices are $10 for army and $60 for ohio state. oh and harvey and lindsay are gone Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Sorry it's been a while, but what was the deal with harvey and lindsay?? I don't know about Harvey, but I did find a photo of Lindsay: Quote
Beanie 4 Heisman Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Harvey is gone. Lindsay is at a JUCO right now Quote
Ziptastic Posted August 1, 2007 Author Report Posted August 1, 2007 Why is Harvey gone, and where did he go? Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Harvey left because he didn't like having to go to school. I have no idea where he is now. I just hope he doesn't pull a Maurice Clarett on us. Quote
PSU_Nut Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 It not surprising that Harvey is done. The kid was an amazing talent with a ten cent head. His senior year he failed and did not graduate. I had hoped he turned the corner after going to night school and enrolling at UA. Unfortunately a free education and a shot at the NFL could get the kid to put any effort in school. Quote
74ZIP Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 sometimes ya just have to say it...told ya so... Quote
RACER Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 hopefully the kid will change. after he has to get a job in the real world.he is a young kid and hopefully will come around before his eligbilty is up. Quote
RACER Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 say what you want about the kid but he was probably our best offense player last year asa freshmen.that does not say much about the level of offensive talent we had last year when you best player is a freshmen. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I think we just got a damn good freshman. This is one thing that is so frustrating. These kids have a FREE EDUCATION handed to them, and they drop the ball!?!? There are lots of programs offered by UA to help these students in their studies. It frustrates me that these kids, with so much talent, just let it slide! Should UA think outside the box to help these kids? Requiring study table and having the coach ride them doesn't seem to be enough. Should we expose them early to the difference between a college degree and a HS diploma? Have them work at Robs for 2 weeks washing dishes, and then the next two weeks they help out kids at a local school or something like that! Quote

I like you idea of thinking outside the box but you gotta understand that some of these kids, former teammates of mine, really do try but some have such a poor foundation all the tutoring in the world won't help because you have to go back and teach stuff they should have learn in high school hell even grade school at times. I am not gonna single a guy out but we had a great linebacker that was OBVIOUSLY just passed along cause the kid could barely read. Do you know how hard it is to teach basic algebra if they don't know basic math? And if you have poor study habits, forget about history, and western cult. Quote
74ZIP Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 don't absolve these "kids' as you call them of responsibility for decisions they make...its unfortunate but many of them are so immature and so self-centered they have little if any regard for the effects of their behavior on others...iresent the fact that some of these types get free passes to an education when many of the rest of us actually had to pay our own way and were actually able to hold down a job while we went to school...the people i went to school with and i had great grades did well afterwards...my family sure as hell wasn't rich...some how we managed to make it through school and get 'real' jobs afterwards...harvey had no business going to college...he obviously did not have the tools or the desire!!!!!
