Wow...29 hours before the Kent/Akron Kickoff

Wow...even the hard-cores are silent!

Zips fans claiming to miss the game because of TRAFFIC? Can't FOOTBALL TRAFFIC? You've got to be kidding me?

Frye vs. Cribbs...the best QB match up you'll see in NE Ohio...maybe for the next decade or more?

I guarantee Can't's defense will be a lot easier to move the ball against than Virginia. Look for another barn burner.

If a Zips fan in NE Ohio sits at home for this one...and you're not confined to a wheel chair...I just don't get it. Weather will be beautiful. This is our chance to beat F-ing Can't on their own field?! What better feeling is there than that,...walking out of Dix with bragging rights for another year!?

The Can't players fed off their crowd last year at the Rubber Bowl. I guarantee it will demoralize the team of sexual assaulters and drug dealers to be outnumbered in their own house!

Show up

Drink beer

Have fun

Beat Can't

Go home

That's a great Thursday night!

This is really sad over here. Three games into the season and the bulk of your fans already packing it in?

I can tell you one thing for sure--Can't State fans are more pumped for this season than any in decades. We had 17k+ for Liberty and that's with no visiting fans. We'll have more Can't State fans for this one for sure and the Zip fans can't even be bothered to show up??

Being nice--let's say HYPOTHETICALLY you were to lose this game and drop to 0-4 and pretty much all your ambitions are shot for the year.(Ours would be, too.) You still have 4 home games left! Who's going to go to those? You know you DO have to avg. 15k this year. We sure do and have made great efforts to pump up the crowds--which you'll see on Thursday if you haven't quit on your team.

Listen to your Captain! Scores don't matter that much--it's all about the W's. You guys have the same record as Marshall. Only Miami has more MAC wins. You are tied with us and Herdie, 1/2 game back. Buck up Zippies.

It's a sad state of affairs that during the big rivalry game week, a flush fan has to come over here to pump you guys up enough so that some will actually show up at a game 12 miles down the road.

That said--you are in for a horrible beating.

I just hope you can protect Charlie from the huge shots he's going to be taking from our defrensive line and lb'sso he can play out the season. We'd have to put you guys on suicide watch if he goes down for the season.

A Can't State fan making fun of an Akron crowd.

Mind you, Can't State is 1-6 in the last seven vs Akron.

The one game I went to in Can't during that period, I think

there was nine hundred people there including the band.

Only reason I'm going is because I'm running low on the cabbage

and Cribs has promised me a taste at half time.

I would taunt fans on the Can't Football board...if there was one. :D

I hate to say it, but I think the reason Can't fans are over here begging for us to come is for THEIR attendance purposes. That is hilarious but I believe it might just be true - why else would they want OUR fans to show up?

Oh great - due to the dumbest possible requirement for 1-A, one that will probably never even become "law", Can't and Akron are going to start boycotting the game when it's at the other site. It does not hurt Akron for Can't to make the attendance requirement, nor the other way around. We should make sure our kids know we support them and make ourselves heard. The Captain is right...beautiful evening, great rivalry, and probably even a few Can't State fans for a change. I'm there.

I'm sure Cribbs will give you a taste. I'm just not sure you are going to like it when he does. B)

Can we expect more than you two, Dr. Z and Capt.? (And weren't you guys a 70's pop group)? We'll try to save you seats. It will be a bigger crowd than you are used to, except when we came to the Condom Bowl last year. You know things have gone really wrong when Can't fans can talk attendance smack to you.

The funniest part of your fair-weather fans is that they are now looking forward to BASKETBALL season. Now THAT'S hilarious!

Hey, I promise not to come over here and taunt you guys after this one. I just hope we let you guys stay in the game and not make it too much of a massacre. You two guys would be left over here posting back and forth to yourselves if that happens. :rolltide: Not a pretty thought.

Enjoy the game!

Yea, I can't believe that Hilltopper is not going to the game since it is on TV and parking. I'm driving 4 freaking hours to see the Zips knock off Can't State at Dix. I think you'll see a decent crowd. It's basically another home game. As for the 15,000 rule, I don't know how many people are actually aware of this. I know it is a big concern to me but the thought of a boycott didn't even cross my mind. People will show up because it'll be a good game.

Now, here is the thing that gets me. The Can't fans are making it sound like we are in for a beating that Virginia couldn't even dish out. Since when did Can't become a top 25 contender? We know that we suck, but you guys suck too. Hell, you're 1-2 with your only win coming over a sorry unranked DI-AA team, Liberty.

I know that you're saying, "Well, Rutgers beat Michigan State and we nearly beat them". HEY, Rutgers also lost to 15th ranked DI-AA New Hampshire...that tells me that Rutgers got lucky. Go ahead, extrapolate all you want as to how good you are. Oh, wait, you already did that, I should just go over to your site to see that. Hey, here's one you missed.

Uh Oh, here we go.......

DooLoo DooLoo DooLoo

In the Mind of a Can't fan:

So, theoretically, since we nearly beat Rutgers who beat Michigan State in football who's basketball team was National Champs in 2000...that means that Can't will be in the Final 4 in BB this year, AWESOME!

Fade to black.

Please, go ahead and think that you guys are going to walk over us. Like I said before, there was a similar feeling by us prior to the last Wagon Wheel game. Talk all the smack you want, but your still our bitches over the past 10 years. I know I was PISSED after last seasons loss and I'll bet the Zips players feel the same way. Your overconfidence can be beaten down by a few quick Fryesman scores. Our desire for revenge from last season will last the entire game.

Finally, I love how we're getting bad mouthed by Can't fans for not having an active board....guess what, yours is just as bad....hypocrites. :tomato:

Yo, I'm out, See everyone at the game. GO ZIPS!!!!

Quiet confidence my friend. I am bringing a group of 10 to the game. This week will tell the story on how the rest of the season goes. My take from the VA game was Zips did not even prepare for that game. They had no confidence of keeping the game close and focused on Can't with the short week. From listening to the game, I think the D is improving. They forced 3-4 punts in the 1st half. If the O had any sustained drives like Penn State, it would have stayed closer.

Containing Cribbs is the key. QBs who can scramble always tear us apart. The O Line needs to step up. Zipdude said it best earlier, what is up with them? I too thought they would be the strength of the team especially up the middle. It's too late to keep waiting, time for some production.

Maybe the Zips weren't going to win 8+ games this year and a MAC title, but they have underachieved so far. Time to start playing football. Only 1 MAC loss going into the Marshall game and we are playing for first place on ESPN.

Go Zips and F the running game. If we can't move the ball early, go back to the shotgun. Charlie will get beat up but at least the O will put some points on the board.

34-30 Akron before a crowd of 19K.

I didn't say your board was INACTIVE, just that it was full of fans who have already given up! Look at all quitters in your football threads!

Frankly, I am disappointed in you guys that so many have given up so quickly. The Captain has been like the Dutch boy with his finger in the dyke. (Not that I want to dwell on that image.) Takes the fun out of tomorrow night's final Zip meltdown.

I know you hardcore guys will be there, but I'll be shocked if you come anywhere close to matching the number of flush fans who showed up in Akron last year. If you do, the place will be near capacity.

Seriously, the best thing for both of us is if it's a game-long shootout. We can talk all the crap we want here, but we aren't playing--what we really need is another game to make both sets of fans want to keep on going to the games. I hope both teams are up to the task.

And Rifle--you gotta come up with new material--posting the same stuff on both boards is just lack of imagination. :nono: We expect better during rivalry week.

There's a big difference between attending a season-opening Thursday Night game where both teams are undefeated...and one where after six combined games neither has beaten a 1-A opponent.

Regardless, there will be a solid showing from the Zips' side. I'll guess 7K...and I base that on absolutely nothing. :D
