I agree with g-mann. Those were instituted several years ago to address the exact situation we have been discussing.

Also, remember, there are at least 3 sets of rules we see every weekend and they are all differnet in one form or another. We have hs fb, college fb, & pro fb. What might be called or enforced one way in hs ball ball is totally different in the other 2 sets of rules.

What's with this Kalamazoo Gazette posting videos to YouTube of what they say are blown calls? Don't they have anything better to do

? Like someone commented there, what fair and balanced journalism to not show any blown calls the other way.....Wah, wah, wah.....WMU lost....deal with it. Oh, and still!

You're exactly right.I could see the WMU athletic dept. posting this on UTube...but for the newspaper to do it...it's like they're campaigning for the school....an institution they must cover with objectivity...not act as their pipe organ.Each day the bar is lowered on journalistic ethics.Sad to say.

Not so Skip. Defensive linemen can move as much as they want. They just can't be in the neutral zone when the ball is snapped. That's offsides. You can't call a false-start penalty on the defense.

Why the fuk are we haggling about technicalities???Look, games are changed ALL THE TIME by bad calls that are much more profound than a missed false start. Things like calling a touchdown when the ball never breaks the plane, or not calling a TD when it does.You see that sorta stuff often on ESPN or replay shows.Seriously, false start? WTF, holding could be called on just about every play, if they wanted to. Are you gonna bitch about non-holding calls that "change the game".A non false-start call complaint is seriously ghey.I mean, just because a ref didn't call FALSE START BEFORE THE PLAY STARTED didn't even change the performance of the players on the field.I mean, hell, not calling a holding has more effect on the actual execution of a play than not calling false start.Cripes, WM, get over it.
