2005 Schedule

Sept. 10 at Purdue

Sept. 17 at Middle Tennessee State

Sept. 1 Home Army (a guess on the date, but Army @ home in 2005 seems to be a given)

If we can take care of business vs. MTSU, we should be in good shape for the OOC 2005 season. I think Orton will be gone, so Purdue should be a good game.

We have Can't and OU at the Rubber Bowl. If BG moves back to the east, I'd hope we get them at home since Miami is @ Oxford. Games at Oxford and BG would be tough. Also...who's the crossover game? I'd love to play Toledo since we haven't met in about 8 years. NIU at the Rubber Bowl would be great too.

I notice the website says Akron doesn't play Army until 2006. I did hear Steve French say it was next year though, so I guess it must be. That's the game some tried to move to Cleveland.

And for crossovers: Hey, we haven't played EMU or CMU for a whole year. We need to reestablish those great traditional rivalries. Who needs Toledo anyway -- are they in our conference?

Can we update what is on the website? Wasn't the series with Utah State changed already? Anyone remember? If there's no trip to Logan -- no great loss, if you've ever been there -- they should replace it with another Western school for we alumni in the West. Or else we can just be satisfied with the soccer teams' trips to the West Coast.

The belief of the school administration, particularly the Alumni Association (I THINK we still have one of those) seems to have always been that so few students and alumni come from outside the Greater Akron area, that they need not be concerned with them. That street runs two ways.

During my time in W. Lafayette, I believe the Boilers played at least 2 games AT MAC schools. Joe Tiller's first game was a loss in the Glass Bowl .. and I think there was a trip to Ball State mixed in there back when Jim Colletto was coach. :puke:

My thought is that perhaps the Zips could get a 2 for 1 out of Purdue and down the road bring the Boilers to a new on campus stadium?

Keep the Boilers game. I go out there for 1 to 2 games a year, and next year would have 2 September games to catch .. UA and ND.
