zen
I heard you can get tickets for $1 for this game. Too bad the basketball team exhibition game is the same night... it would be nice to be able to do both!Which game I go to will be decided by whether we beat Toledo on Wednesday. Win and I'll be at the Bowl. Lose, and I'll go to the JAR to support a real team with a real coach.fake coaches don't win enough :rolleyes:BTW, the blimp was on the cam but I didn't get a screen cap in time... Blue & Gold
I'm hoping Goodyear flies the Blimp over The Info for every Zips' game! The Blimp is our community's #1 identity marker and is recognized all over the world.
Blue & Gold
Btw, I was walking around the stadium yesterday and they are beginning to put the facing brick on the exterior of the 1st floor of the press tower. It's going to be drop-dead gorgeous! I know Big Ten stadiums are larger, but this facility is going to be the envy of the entire mid-west (and Big East?!) It's going to be drop-dead gorgeous! I know Big Ten stadiums are larger, but this facility is going to be the envy of the entire mid-west (and Big East?!)I remember when we were talking about this stadium on here even before we knew where it was going to go or whether it was a done deal.I think big time props have to go the the planners of this thing. They did almost every aspect of this project right.1) They created a beautiful design that tied into campus with brick facade. It doesn't look like a cheap amusement park structure.2) The location is perfect... on campus, and next to the practice facility and near two highways.3) They created classrooms and other ways so that the facility didn't end up being dead real estate except 6 times per year.4) The tower! It didn't have to be this big, but not only does it look impressive (and adds a bit of intimidating home field advantage) but it will be visible for miles around (depending on terrain). There is no way to ignore this thing. The only thing that I think most of us would have liked is a slightly more enclosed feel. Perhaps not a boring generic bowl design, but atleast something that harkened more to a big time venue... but it's understandable that to add in this aspect without spending a lot more money is practically impossible
johnnyzip84
Just saw the blimp fly over... kinda neat if your from out of town I guessMaybe they'll fly over the stadium and take some new aerial photos!Yeah, we need Tom Hagen to provide some more of these awesome shots! What do you say, Tom? Is there any way we can make YOU and offer that you can't refuse?

Remember that the dorms will be closing it in partially on Exchange, and the Field House kind of provides an enclosure on the north side. ksu sucks
This is probably a stupid question, but what is all of that yellow that was put in on the back of the homestands? I saw as I was walking by and was just curious.

I saw as I was walking by and was just curious. Not trying to start a flame war, but I wish you all would realize that we don't have "homestands" we aren't YSU and we aren't a high school. We have West Stands (press tower) and East Stands. I mean the south seating area (the berm and the 2 adjacent sections on both sides of the field) is going to be designated as the student section. There is reserved seating on both sides of the field. General admission is going to be from the 30 yard to the goal line on both sides. Please people we have to get out of this low class mentality. Blue & Gold
I'm fairly certain BostonZip is correct. It is insulation. The exterior brick facing should soon cover all of the yellow foamboard.

tbozeglav
They took down and removed the large red crane last night. I guess they won't be needing to do any more large-scale lifting...

g-mann17
Oh Oh.... better tell this guyhttp://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...;ATCLID=1622477Yeah I notice he doesn't refer to a home side or visitor side, just West concourse and east councourse and Press/suite tower, except for one point at the end. Which means the athletic department is making an effort to get rid of the Home side, Visitor side, high school, low division idealogy that plagued the Rubber Bowl. bigham78
They took down and removed the large red crane last night. I guess they won't be needing to do any more large-scale lifting...The smaller cranes can lift HVAC units and they've been putting that in place yesterday and today in the Cams. I'm pretty sure they'll bring another mid size type crane when they start putting the pre-fab upper deck into place.Anyone who doubts how long that will take needs to go to University of Minnesota site and take at look their stadium. It's far larger at 50,000 plus and they started placing their pre-fab upper deck in place in Late July-Early August and that part of the project is almost done. http://stadium.gophersports.com/?DB_OEM_ID=8400This project started just a few months before ICS and is opening in Sept 2009 as well. tbozeglav
A look at the webcams today shows that it looks like they're digging out the dirt ramp from exchange down into the bowl. I guess they will be using the constructed ramp from Spicer from here on out? I would guess so.
