ksu sucks
Hey Big Guy...Thanks for the info on the new turf. Shared it with a fairly knowledgeable friend who says the rubber-sand infill makes for an ideal "feel" for football. And it's supposedly a lot safer for the athletes, too.The lower crown is appealing, too. Man, that Rubber Bowl crown was ridiculous. My high school had the rubber/sand infill installed my junior year. That stuff is awesome! Before that, we had that AstroTurf crap . Whoever thought that garbage was worth playing on was an idiot. . I got so many turf burns on that growing up. All that it was good for was long punt bounces .

xu9697
Does anyone have information about the ratio of sand vs. rubber that will be used for the new field? I mean since you can't say opposing QBs, when sacked, got a a face full of dirt, it would be best to know if they have a face full of sand or rubber. Man, that Rubber Bowl crown was ridiculous. The Rubber Bowl Crown was always for drainage from back when they still had grass in early 1970's. They always had drainage issues when it rained and when they replaced the field in 1971 and installed the current lights. They added the crown for better drainage. The last year of grass in 1972 still had many HS and UofA games played in the mud due to the heavy rains that year. When they installed the grass on concrete in 1973. They kept the crown. To be quite honest I never notice it much when I played back in the mid 1970's as many HS had crowns. Norton HS at the time had higher crown then the RB crown. bigham78
Big crane along the south endzone up in the scoreboard area. Could this be the first sign of rising of the scoreboard?

Anyone heard any updated news about a seat selection date? I am getting anxious. Thanks!

As of tomorrow 05/22 it will be 90 days when they're supposed to turn over a finished Stadium to UofA on 08/22/09.The only part I'm anxious about is the upper part of the upper deck on the pressbox side. I have no doubts everything will done less the classroom levels in the Pressbox tower. But, IMO they're crunching the time on upper part of the upper deck on the pressbox side.I'm sure they'll have it done. But, I wish they'd started the work on it already. bUAkronG
On my way home from work today I saw that construction is underway for the Southwest Entrance to Exchange Street. Also, it appears the base for the scoreboard is also in place.

g-mann17
They're going like gangbusters in putting the field in. Yeah I would say it has been won of the quickest visuals of the process. But I'll be happy to see the remainder of the west upper deck going in.
MDZip
I think the fact that the facade is going up on the pressbox might be the best view of the "finished" product. It looks great, a whole lot better than that "roughed in" concrete look. I have no doubts at all that the stadium will be ready on time. g-mann17
On my way to class tonight I was driving up I-77 and right before the central interchange I noticed an addition to one of the signs. On the very top it said"INFOCISION STADIUM"It just feels good to know we getting so close to have real highway signage going up. It's the first I've seen.
