infofan
Willnthose advertisements be on the backside of the scoreboard too? That could bring in see extra cash. Will there be a video board on the exchange street side?Another cost cut. Exchange side of scoreboard is just a billboard, though it will have the oval roo logo on top. It says lanscap for champions.//www.uakron.edu/information/stadium/
Zipsrifle
Oh yea, that's right someone posted that earlier. I bet they could have paid for the thing if they simply made it a billboard but then we wouldn't get any UA information on it so I can see why they made that decision. ZachTheZip
All ads on one side of the scoreboard are up!!!Can anybody identify the advertisers? Giant Eagle on the upper right is the only one clear to me on the cam.Pepsi and Montrose Auto Group lower right I think. Two more smaller above them, then the large Giant Eagle. I enlarged the pictures but the image is too distorted to tell.Top left is Time Warner Cable. Top right is First Energy and enVision appartments. bUAkronG
scoreboard is almost complete- at least the stadium side is. The roo is atop and looks great. I told you they were big, look how it is on the cam!I am curious as to where the other one will go, though.

xu9697
Cement wall surrounding the field=pictures in poster/magnet show brick. Will it:A. Remain the sameB. Get the brick facadeC. Get Blue & Gold paddingAt this point, my guess is b&g padding would be cheaper/easier than the facade, but less "classic" looking.

They're leaving options for future upgrades, so the next AD can put "stadium upgrades" on his resumé.

Just wondering what we might have when 9/12/2009 arrives.
bigham78
I know there's plenty of time. But, any of our locals see any signs of the light towers for the east side? It does look like begining of something at the end of the upper deck. But, I can't tellI'm still hoping they do more then three towers and have something close to the original design. I would do it here but the couple times I've tried to upload to an albulm, it fails out on me. (my fault I know, but if there is a secret, please point me in the right direction)

(my fault I know, but if there is a secret, please point me in the right direction)Thanks,I was trying to to get a good look at that and could't tell the net wire was attached to it.I've seen them put up all kinds of light towers in nothing flat over years. The original lights at Wrigley Field they put up in less then two weeks and that was 21 years ago. No biggie on the installation front.I was just wondering if the hardware had been delivered. infofan
Does anyone know what the big screen is? Is it a digital score type thing or will it actually have video?22'X39' Full video capability. I can't wait.as a point of reference, Dick's stadium scoreboard at Can't has an HD- X Daktronics videoboard measuring approx. 36feet by 20 feet. So yes ours will be slightly larger though the content resolution may not be better. I hope it is but I plan on watching the action on the field. Can't also has a 60 ft LED "ribbon" at the bottom. I dont know the specs of ours but we have a similar ribbon board on bottom ( above the Summa field sign) and across most of east upper deck facing. That is going to be very imprssive! Lets hope they have some better cameras than what they utilize at Rhodes arena for replays and closed circuit feed.
UADavid
Are the ads lit up on the scoreboard?? No, just reflection from the setting sun.
UADavid
Just took a drive by my new favorite building and saw them unloading the light standards for the east side. They look like the scoreboard poles (blue) with a large steel flange that bolts down. It appears to be in three sections, maybe four. UADavid
At the top of the scoreboard where it says InfoCision Stadium, did they misspell it or use the wrong font or has it always been a cheap looking flapping blue plastic tarp? It definitely is covered over and I thought it originally was a back lit plastic sign. The backside has a www.gozips.com made of the same material. I imagine the rest of the street side will also be made this way.
