RowdyZip
Thoughts on this one? BIG item of note with Nate Minnoy NOT playing (Scored 21 of CMUs 65 points on 8/13 shooting earlier this year). Zips open at 8 point favorites. I think I would take that bet...if I were a gamblin' man
ZachTheZip
I'll be there to help cheer the Zips on to victory and revenge. The AK-Rowdies will be ready for the few (if any) of CMU's "Rose Rowdies" that show up.
Quickzips
I don't like to be too overconfident, but the stars seem lined up for us on this one.We are MUCH healthier than we were the last time we played them. The guy who killed us isn't even in Cleveland. We've got revenge on our minds.
Marty McFly
Any idea why he's not traveling with team? Injury? Coach's Decision?

bUAkronG
yeah I'm going to run home after my class let's out at 3 PM. I'm liking this match up as well but I have to say, I'd much rather have seen NI. But you take what hand is dealt!
RowdyZip
Any idea why he's not traveling with team? Injury? Coach's Decision?Did a little lurking on the cmu boards. Word is there was an elbow given in practice by minnoy that was deemed deliberate by their coach. Pretty severe punishment. Maybe K-e-n-t should take notes? skip-zip
Minnoy not playing is HUGE. I watched that first game, and nobody, including Jeremiah, could stop him in the paint. He's just a big body, and was so difficult to defend moving towards the bucket. With that being a done deal, anything short of Watson scoring 40 points should equal a pretty easy Zips victory....I hope. AND...playing a 2:30 game when we don't have to play again until 9:30pm Friday night will prove to be a big advantage as well.
Zip Watcher
The Zips would play at 7PM on Friday should they win on Thursday afternoon.
bUAkronG
listening to the game in class. Or rather at this point it's just the pregame. Shall we use this for the in-game?What are your keys to the game?IMO Wood needs a big game inside with Minnoy out. Look for him to have 20+ points. Just my little prediction lets go Zips!!! bUAkronG
good start for the Zips with Jeremiah hitting 2 of his first 3 FG's. Up 7-0 with 4 from Wood and a 3 from Cedrick.
bUAkronG
Chippewas with 3 of 4 from beyond the arc on a 9-0 run now leading 9-7. Gotta find a solution to stopping their outside game.well Roberts just drained a 3 and we're back up 10-7.
Quickzips
CMU is hot from behind the arc. Gotta stop that.
apalmison
Wood is doing his part to shut down the three . . . two stuffs in a row on Kellerman.
bandzip
Halftime up by 5. Any thoughts?
bUAkronG
Why use this when we have the Live Chat?Probably because I can't seem to get it to work lolGreat run at the end of the half for the Zips. We're playing pretty well so far. Once the threes started clanking for CMU we were able to grab the momentum and run with it. Smart, balanced play is what we need to keep doing. Have Wood continue to dominate inside and with that our outside game will have time to shine!Jeremiah with 10, Linhart with 6.Even with the misses CMU is still shooting 33% from beyond the arc. Halftime score Zips 34 CMU 29.
Quickzips
I have to believe playing 2 games in as many days is going to start catching up to CMU's jumpers at some point here. They can't keep shooting from behind the arch that hot. Vandelay's blog has this to say, "If this were a boxing match I wonder if Akron just took the best couple of punches that Central had to throw at them, yet stayed on their feet." I think thats a pretty good analogy.
bUAkronG
great second half for the Zips. Great hustle and dedication tonight. Let's see us carry it over to tomorrow and beat them Westerners!!!
Valpo Zip
Great to see KD resting the starters with about 3 minutes left. Usually he doesn't take that RISK untill the last 40 seconds. Even if we're up by
gozips19
Big win by the Zips today! was never really close. With Wood healthy CMU didn't have a chance. Other than Wood, B. McNight and Roberts played great today. With Ced in foul trouble Roberts showed that he truly is a Ced clone. McNight is a nightmare match up and continues to get better. If we can get anything out of Quade in the next two games I like our chances! Also, props to dials for playing with in the game and looking to dish rather than take a ton of shots.BIG BIG WIN!!!!!! C YA FRIDAY!
Valpo Zip
The best thing out of today's game was that the rowdies revealed the truth about Can't State on the air:I was watching the the post game period on FSN-Ohio and the 2 guys behind the mics were in the Q talking about the stats etc...Some noise is suddenly heard in the background and the two guys start chuckling before one of them goes:The reason we're laughing is because a group of zips fans just passed behind us and they were chanting: "Can't state..." never mindProps to the rowdies for revealing the truth about the hippies. Not only that, but also :screwks:By the way, have i mentionned that ?
ziprowdy
man linhart needs to have a game like that tomrrow and the next day and the next...once he got settled he had a lockdown on defense...guarding the passing lane with authority...gettin steals, creating turnovers, crazy-ass awesome moves on the baseline to get the layup...and nailing threes...linhart stepped it up...all the zips did...this was a good game today...needs to carry over
