Akron1
Does anyone know what is going on with Jimmy Conyers?
Quickzips
During the OU postgame last week KD said that Jimmy had gotten into his dog house. Didn't specify as to what happened, but apparently he isn't out of it yet. It's too bad. The kid has some talent, but he just hasn't been able to put it together.Speaking of disappearing players, has anyone seen Quade Milum lately? I thought he was still on the team? GoZips
Jimmy Conyers sat on the bench during the Central Michigan game. Appearantly Jimmy has not completed his tour in Purgatory.Quade Milum played in both halves during the CMU game.By my observation, playing the McKnights who are both more talented than Quade is the wisest for the team. The McKnights are the future.
unZIPped
I heard that KD tried to put Conyers in yesterday and he refused.
GoZips88
I heard that KD tried to put Conyers in yesterday and he refused.Whoa! Ya know you're moving the wrong way on the bench when you're out on the floor towards the end of the game with Sallee and Goddard. Quade remains MIA, especially in big games. Too bad because he's a good person and you like to see guys like that succeed.
Blue & Gold
I heard that KD tried to put Conyers in yesterday and he refused.Wow, I hope that's not true. How many times is a player allowed to do that before their scholly is pulled?
w00t
I heard that KD tried to put Conyers in yesterday and he refused.Wow, if that's true, a transfer can't be too far away. I hope it's not, Jimmy seems like a good guy.
meatwad
I heard that KD tried to put Conyers in yesterday and he refused.Yikes, that's pretty intense. For the record I was a couple rows behind the bench and don't recall seeing KD offer to Conyers. I certainly could have missed it though. Zip Watcher
I spoke with a coach on Wednesday night .. and FWIW asked about how Jimmy was doing, and the reply was really upbeat and supportive of Jimmy.I'm an outsider, but I think it's a numbers game .. they struggle to find good rotations when they're playing more than 9 guys, and with Brett coming on, and Jimmy missing some time a couple of weeks ago, I suspect he just lost the spot.Hope he stays .. and graduates. Very nice guy if you ever meet him.His commitment to the defensive end of the court earns him my respect and hope that he stays. Theoretically, he's only a Sophomore, so that upside can still be tapped.Hang in there Jimmy!Go Zips!

Quickzips
Quade Milum played in both halves during the CMU game.He did? Could have fooled me. <note: sarcasm, I did see him out there>As far as Conyers goes, if what was said about his refusing to come in is true I'd be willing to bet a fair chunk of change that he won't be on this team next year. Whether he transfers or gets kicked off the team, that kind of shit won't fly.
gozips19
i've been saying that he was entered into the witness protection program mid way through the season.
zipboy
McFadden was on Zips Live a few weeks ago and said that Jimmy had some serious dental trouble and needed surgery. He was missing or not able to practice well because of the pain.He was a regular 10 minute guy until the flu knocked him out. I agree with ZW, he fell behind and it is a numbers game. B McKnight really stepped up and there are only so many minutes to go around. Going into next year, I see Jimmy getting some minutes but not much more than this year. Linhart and McKnight should both be 25+ minute guys,
Blue & Gold
Jimmy certainly passes the eyeball test - he's a dead-ringer for Michael Jordan, only about 1 inch shorter. I wish all our Zips players looked as much like a baller as Jimmy does. But he just really doesn't get it done. He's got the proverbial deer-in-the-headlights look when he's out there. Man, I don't understand that. If I were 6-5 and as athletic as Jimmy I'd be flying all around out there. But alas, I'm a 5-8 white boy.
