  1. When people say it’s impossible to win here you have to look at situations like this, or even Indiana. Last season was their first in FBS.
  2. Interesting on a couple levels, Joe isn’t going to UConn and now Toledo will be looking for a new head coach
  3. I just wish something would happen one way or the other. Wish he’d take a job or announce he’s here for another year.
  4. That link says nothing about it?
  5. Agree, he had to have very limited options when he committed to Akron. Those big offers likely came very early in the recruiting process and are non existent today. Many possible reasons - poor camp performance, high school film wasn’t as good as expected, grades, getting in trouble, coaching changes, etc., all possible reasons. Bottom line is that no kid is going to Akron if they had committable offers at Penn State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Miami, Georgia etc etc. It just doesn’t happen.
  6. Something clearly doesn’t add up here, but regardless, he’s committed to Akron at this point
  7. It’s been all quiet on the VT front the last several days but Joe’s name keeps coming up as a candidate for the UConn head coaching job. Looks like possibly mutual interest, but as someone on here mentioned previously, his 13-35 record at Akron would be a hard sell to fans and boosters.
  8. This is trending pretty hot on X now. Joe’s name seems to be coming up frequently. He coached there from 2009-2011. For the record, Jim Mora was making $2.1 million at UConn when he left. Joe is making $620k at Akron. With all his frustrations at Akron, it’s hard to believe that he wouldn’t take this job if offered.
  9. Good question. UConn is always in a weird spot: no conference, poor attendance, basketball school, etc. When there is a question it usually comes back to money - wether it’s money in the program or money in his pocket…or likely both!
  10. Looks like UConn coach Jim Mora is leaving to take the Colorado State job. This is one of the possible landing spots for Joe mentioned last week.
  11. I try finding all of these on X but so many slip through - and I’m sure there will be many more coming
  12. I guess the question is: will one good game translate into a better situation and some money??
