  1. Looking forward to this one! Wish I could fly out there! RPI points aplenty, ripe for the picking! Time for Zips to fix their Defense!

  2. If Woodson throws for 300 yards and has a couple of picks (4 would be too many though) taking some well-conceived shots downfield, it would be OK with me (not that anyone's asking me). But let's not get cute inside the 5 yard line when there are a lot of running options (including the QB).

  3. We should feel right at home in their stadium...looks much like ours.

  5. As evidence by the volume of your posting, you somehow feel that volume is the leading metric to determine the quality of this site. Volume is worthless. Any lonely retiree can post 5...10...15 times per day on this site and create volume. That volume of relentless, opinionless noise drives the creative and the insightful away. That loss of quality content is an increasing concern. ZipsNation doesn't care about "hits," "traffic,"...none of that has ever meant anything. I've spent over $1,000 out of my own pocket to keep this site up-and-running over the past decade +. I keep this site running because I care about Zips athletics, and in lieu of any radio, TV, and for the most part newspaper coverage of the Program, I feel it is important that like-minded people have a place to learn about the Programs, and share their opinions. But the doors here are open to the people with endless spare time, no opinions, and all day to type. I've probably deleted 2...maybe 3 posts in the past year. For whatever stupid reason, I let everyone have their say and edit nothing. The vast majority appreciate the forum. Yet a few act like they are persecuted. Thanks to Dr. Z for providing the awesome game day photos. He's sacrificing sitting in the stands with his buds on Saturdays to enhance the content of this site, and raise its quality. That is dedication, and is really appreciated. And thanks to the others who share their out-of-town news links, insights, humor, creativity and/or passion to make this sight and interesting read. That's the backbone of ZipsNation. Not "volume."

  6. Finally got a chance to see my favorite MLS team, the Montreal Impact, play at home in Stade Saputo last night. It didn't hurt to have Evan Bush maintain the lead late with a fingertip save with a few minutes to go and the Impact down to 10. He was put in some difficult spots by numerous giveaways. The goal from Drogba was a beauty though - a straight down header at the end of a long cross from Reo-Coker. Still hanging onto the last playoff spot in the East. Allez, allez. Allez, allez, allez. Montreal, Montreal, Montreal, allez, allez!

  7. A better question might be - if high school football games draw really well at Infocision, is there a marketing opportunity in the future to get a double-header with a Zips game and a HS football game? If a big HS game was played at 1, and the same ticket got you into the Zips game that starts at 3:30 (or so) could that improve our attendance? I'm not sure if this would send the wrong message about Zips football, or if it would be a nice way to get the local community interested? You can even have Zips halftime giveaways where you sell raffle tickets during the HS game and announce winners during the Zips game?

  8. Noah has put in a lot of hard work since his injury. He is now a solid 175lbs and all the work in the weight room really shows. He should be cleared soon for full contact practice.

  9. Zips fans care about attendance 10X more than they do their team's performance. I can't imagine the time spent trying to dissect the Zips actual attendance vs. butts-in-seats, or trying to disclose the alleged cover up of unsold tickets by their own University's employees is remotely approached by any other fan base, at ANY division of collegiate football. Now, the butt fetish has extended to dissecting opponent's attendance? F*ck attendance. Go Tommy Woodson! Beat Louisiana!

  10. Good Afternoon. Cajuns fan living in Houston. Two time graduate from UL. A little about the Cajuns: Under Coach Hudspeth, the Cajuns have had 4 consecutive 9 win seasons and 4 straight bowl victories. The Cajuns run first, pass second. Elijah McGuire is our best back. Arguably the 2nd best back in the state behind Fornette at LSU. Our 2nd back is Pierce and he is quick. Haack is the starting QB. This will be his 4th start ever. Strong passer. Will scramble if he needs to. Our defense continues to improve. We lost two excellent DLs to graduation last year, but our LBs are strong. The Cajuns went down early against Kentucky, made halftime adjustments and was tied going late into the 4th quarter. Bad penalties and a timely run sealed the Cajuns fate. The Cajuns were vanilla against NSU. Not sure what to expect this week. I don't think the Cajuns will be complacent. They had a number of injuries going into the bye. Looks like they may have at least three starters back for Akron. The Cajuns have a "revenge" against an in-state opponent next week so they could look past Akron, but I don't expect it to happen. Akron will see a lot of run from the Cajuns. Cajun Field has recently expanded to 36,900. We normally get just under 30K each game. For those who are going to Lafayette, be ready to enjoy great food and great hospitality.
