  1. After the morale napalm of the Scarborough era, it's a great lift to see that story. It reminds you what UA pride feels like.

  2. "The MAC has moved ahead of C-USA in virtually every aspect. By sticking with ESPN, instead of alienating the network as C-USA did in 2011, MAC schools receive $830,000 a piece in annual television revenue. That is $630,000 more than Marshall will get in 2016-17. What happened? Poor expansion by C-USA happened." It's too bad, Marshall was good for the MAC, and the MAC was good for Marshall.

  4. Once every four years a D-1 basketball team may play a few games overseas. This is the year the Zips are eligible. The Zips will play in the Bahamas August 12-20. The hotel of choice is the famous Atlantis you see advertised on TV. Details to follow. <Insert disclaimer here.>

  5. I posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves a thread of its own. This was in Fox Sports 1 pregame show tonight prior to USAvParaguay broadcast.

  7. It appears that UA may have gotten a little attention with some of its own marketing.

  8. I like the term "Akron Boys", also (in the sense of their university affiliation). I was commenting that I think it plays well to a national audience of potential recruits that UA is not solely regional, but great soccer players from anywhere thrive at the University of Akron, a "National Powerhouse".

  9. 830k? Regardless of how any of us feel about Tuesday night football games, it's not going to change with that kind of much-needed revenue coming in.

  10. Our University should use anything that proclaims any Akron Athletics program as a "National Powerhouse". Especially since it compares Akron to our nemesis down in Cowlumbus. I love the piece. It would seem to be priceless publicity. But like I've always said, the problem will always be that not enough people in Ohio give a damn about Soccer.
