  1. maybe you should look a little closer
  2. i heard we're making the move to the pac-10
  3. one of the comments from the pitt blog you referenced was something along the lines of:akron?! the place that makes youngstown look nice?that made me lol pretty hard.
  4. it just seems like a better fit to have the odd corner next to the plasma center... now customers don't have to be inconvenienced by walking across exchange
  5. They're implying that Zeke is so tall he won't be able to walk under the archways. TBS, Very Funny!sorry, just didn't make sense because the drawing was making the arches square without actually increasing the clearance at the highest point. and i'm going to make the assumption that the bridge between the jar and memorial will be torn down when they decide to tear down memorial. no need to have a bridge to nowhere.
  6. it's not drug paraphernalia, it's tobacco accessories. glass pipes, hookahs, water tobacco pipes... lol. i saw in one head shop brass knuckles labeled as a paper weight (thus legal). and what's really cool is that if you don't do drugs yourself they sell incense that smell like drugs...
  7. Forget soccer and bball, lets get that rifle dynasty started. good luck with that. if i was a betting person i would put my money on soccer first.Well I have to admit the only reason I attend the rifle matches is to watch the cheerleaders and dance squad, but when an occasional stray shot catches a spectator that's entertaining as well. who needs cheerleaders when you get to see all of the rifle girls (and guys) walk around the range in spandex?
  8. personally i like where the jar is (not necessarily the building). it's nice and convenient to have all of the sport facilities in one area.
  9. Forget soccer and bball, lets get that rifle dynasty started. good luck with that. if i was a betting person i would put my money on soccer first.
  10. because i could only read it by copy and pasting it...
  11. if you are 100% without a doubt sure that zeke will be signing with akron in the fall and that absolutely nothing can change his mind, my best advice would be to just ignore the press. you already have made your decision and now all that's really left is all of the jealous people to vent their anger. it hurts, yes, and really can only bring you down. they're idiots that won't be reasoned with, so why bother arguing? you guys are sitting in a great position and zeke only has to worry now about having a great senior year. why let others try to tear that down by reading their negativity?
  12. i'll care once it's announced. until then, it's just bs gossip.
  13. i guess my point is that if you actually get a chance to look at one of the student-athlete handbooks that were given out to all athletes this year, you'll see in there perfectly spelled out the academic demands among other things. this includes things such as the mandatory class attendance and punishments from the department for each infraction. these rules are being enforced! we are just having to pay for previous years before these standards took effect. things are changing and changing for the better.
  14. it's where dave's market is
  15. there have been changes, but the reality of the situation is that things don't suddenly change over night. personally, i'm not too worried about the future. yes it sucks now that we have to suck up a penalty, but i have complete confidence that this will not be an issue in the future.
  16. so who loses their scholarship money and how is that decided?
  17. through what i know of my own sport (and i admit the rules for the "major" sports are a big different), the whole can't-talk-to-an-athlete is a high school thing. some shooters become very good very young (like make the national team in middle school) and can chat away until they hit high school. then they can't be approached until after their junior year.
  18. i think if you take a look at mack's success at utep, you'd find a pretty good predictor. this is akron, but i have hope.
  19. Or even better, right on top of the Plasma Exchange. there wouldn't be enough room... we'd have to pull eminent domain on the odd corner... again
  20. well this argument is probably going on because most people still don't know the exact reasoning as to why she is leaving and the rumor mill isn't always correct. so people out here are filling in the blanks the best they can with the limited information they have, which is perfectly reasonable. they're conclusions aren't exactly accurate. my view though is that if she wanted people to know all the intimate details she would announced it. since she's speaking around the details, this indicates it's something that should be accepted and left alone. she's a nice girl and even if she's not going to be playing here next year i wish her the best of luck.
  21. wrong. double wrong.she is looking for a place that gives her a start to a career. why should she settle for anything less than what she wants to do. what did you eat today gp1? honey bunches of bullshit?
  22. i would agree that the pattern needs to stop, however i think it's on the player's shoulder's not the coach's. ultimately it is their responsibility to act in accordance with any rules, no matter how much you as a fan may disagree with them or think they are stupid.
  23. don't forget psychology too
  24. there is competition. some other head shop (called therapy i think) opened up not too long ago where the old heaven and hell tattoo place was.
