  1. Vote for your top THREE picks in terms of the Shooting Guard position. Top choice is the starter, second is off the bench, third is third off the bench. Please read all Special Notes before voting: 1. I compiled this list using this resource. 2. I'm only allowed 10 options and the poll, so I compiled the list by Players listed at the SG position at any point in their career with the best stats. 3.This is just for fun, don't take it too seriously. My tenure of hardcore following the Zips was 2010-2016, and then only casually after that so I'm trying my best here. 😆
  2. Vote for your top THREE picks in terms of the Power Forward position. Top choice is the starter, second is off the bench, third is third off the bench. Please read all Special Notes before voting: 1. I compiled this list using this resource. 2. Most players on this list are because they were listed as the starting PG in their senior year, or multiple years. 3. Players may appear on multiple lists depending upon the positions they played. Vote based upon the position listed. Any players who played multiple positions will be re-listed on those voting lists later. For Example: Nick Harney was listed as a backup PG, but also was listed as a SF and SG. If you don't think he was the top-3 Pg or SF, but a top-3 SG than vote for him when the SG part rolls around. 4. The Poll only allows for 10 options, so I'm giving the 10 best options I can come up with from the resource provided. 5. This is just for fun, don't take it too seriously. 3. Uh, what? I'm happy for Keith.
  4. It felt like we were always a 14/13 seed. W/E. Still doesn't answer how a Mid-Major like Akron gets a lower seed than Duquesne
  5. I mean he's also never been higher than an 14 seed either. I really wish I understood how seeding works. I will never understand how a PLAY IN teams get higher seeds than teams that actually won their respective conference, and how is Duquesne an 11 seed while the Zips are stuck at a 14 seed.
  6. Akron went from 3 up to 5 down in like the blink of an eye...yikes.
  7. At this pace, Enrique might score 30...
  8. Alright Duquesne! They're up 14 on BYU!!!!!
  9. Zips are keeping this game fun! Groce seems to be able to get his teams ready to play in tournaments.
  10. I personally picked the Dukes as one of the upsets in a lot of my brackets. hopefully this 7-0 lead holds.
  11. The DUKES are coming out hot against BYU!
  12. Don't look now but MSU has just gone on a 7-0 run on MSU.
  13. It's a good thing IMHO. I hate that new A logo. But it's also likely an indictment of the team who made it not to widely publicize it. The move to the Z was almost flawless. The move to the New-A doesn't seem to have been, if I'm being honest. Kinda like the Script Akron...
  14. I'm saying that was the chance. There wasn't anybody in the room who thought, maybe we should stop chasing the jones'. Like I know hindsight is 20/20...but that would have been the time to cut the program. While everyone else was doubling down on the investment that was the time to go "maybe WE won't". Like UA invested heavily in new Lab Space for Biology at around the same time they invested heavily in the football program. A lot of the Lab Space and equipment ended up being liquidated with many programs during the Scarborough years, yet the football program still exists. I mean as a Freshman on campus I thought it was a dumb idea to be investing millions in Akron Football...as I watched them building the stadium.
  15. I feel like it starts with having administration that give-a-damn about the University and don't just see it as a resume-building opportunity. The pendulum needs to swing back in the opposite direction that leached over from the private sector where you job-hop from place to place every couple of years, only focusing on building the resume...as opposed to long-term investment in something because you believe it matters. We had a few, all too few, of those kinds of people when I was on campus and they've all since been driven away.
  16. Almost makes you wonder if UA should have just cut the Football program when it had a chance. Decaying Football Stadium seemed like the opportune time to do so. 🫣 I wasn't around for those conversations (obviously), I do remember my first semester on Campus watching them build the Football Stadium though
  17. Unfortunately I'm limited to 10 players, so I explained my rational above based upon how they were listed on that resource I had. It did have Cetrick Middleton listed as the backup PG until Dru Joyce graduated and then it has Middleton listed as the starting PG for the 2007-2008 season. Steve McNeese I originally had on the list but since I'm limited to 10 players he got the axe because of PPG. Granted I'm limited to the resource that I have, because wasn't following the team religiously back then as I did from 2010-2016, but McNeese at least according to that source was not listed as a starting PG.
  18. I was tempted to put Garvin Clarke on every single one...😆
  19. I was bummed that I was limited to 10...I had to cut some worthy entries unfortunately.
  20. The culture of Resume Building ... Every transient administrator at UA wants to put "University Athletics Rebrand" on their Resume. Who cares if it is actually an effective rebrand or not, they'll be long gone by that point.
