  1. I see big value in Shammah being the 6th man but I think he put the blood sweat and tears for this program to not start his senior year. Then I could see both Mahaffey bother’s start with Amani Lyles and Johnson.
  2. I agree Young is much better, but he is short and I think he will run the 2nd string before getting handed the keys next year once Tavari graduates. Bowen is a good complementary piece to spread the floor and hopefully has improved his overall game.
  3. Someone asked about Rotation here is my take. Obviously it will change throughout the season but with huge games early here is my 1st couple game predictions. we will Play a 3 guard line up with Tavari Johnson, Shammah Scott, and Bowen Hardman starting. Sharron Young and Cody Head will come off the bench at the guard. the 2 freshman guards might redshirt. At the 4 I think we will start the year with Evan Mahaffey with his brother backing him up but Ogen Stankovic will play more and more as the season goes on and might shift the Mahaffey brothers to the 3 (it is probably a given that we will play a 4 out offense so all these dudes will play on the perimeter) At the 5 Amani will start and play big minutes. with Chabi Barre and Rich Brisco coming in with foul trouble or to give Amani a break. Marvin will struggle to see the court unless injury. That gives us 11 total players playing regular minutes. I think we have the pieces to 3peat and my biggest mystery player is Cody Head, as I don't know how good he is, he could start over Bowen.
  4. the most exciting returner is Amani Lyles: he improved so much last season I think he could do it again this off season especially with the 3 pointer. the most exciting new guy is probably Evan Mahaffey, how does his game translate to mid major play. The big problem this season is I think we have 12 guys that would play serious minutes at other Mac schools. How in the world is everyone going to stay happy with maybe only playing 15 minutes or less. Groce has a good problem but I still think it is a problem.
  5. My Official prediction now that schedule is out. I think we go 27-4 in the regular season Purdue, Yale, Tulane, Miami are the 4 losses. we win the Mac tournament and get a 12 seed.
  6. I agree we need to win. But if you think about it. I think we will be favored in every game but the Purdue game. Head to conference with 1 loss and you will be on the bubble with a 16-2 conference record. That would be 28-3 going into the MAC tournament.
  7. Only 6 non conference games 2 against non D1 But the other 4 are solid. The neutral and road games are really good. I like it a lot and think if we play our cards right might have a chance at large bid
  8. I would imagine he will be playing the 4 (in a 4 guard line up) but that will give us the size that we need and give us a chance against P4 teams
  9. Thanks, my main realistic idea is a reusable souvenir popcorn bucket and drink. You would pay like $50 and get unlimited popcorn for the season!
  10. This is random, does anyone know a contact for the concession stand people, I would love to get some new options next year! lol
  11. JMU is a good get. Brand is good and I bet they will be top 4 in that conference. Who else is coming to the JAR! I need to know lol
  12. I think this season will be remembered as the Mahaffey brothers season Eric is going to be legit and his brother is the glue guy of the team. I’m starting to think both Start! With Tavari Lyes and Scott
  13. Haven’t heard anything. But this could be a Nate replacement… long shot, but reel him in!!
  14. I think the 5 position is hard one because on one hand I think Amani deserves to start but on the other I struggle to see Chabi Barre commit to be the backup center. Amani can play the 4. but all of last year he never did in a similar situation with Okonkwo. so either we see a change in offensive scheme going with 2 bigs or one of them has to start and one has to come off the bench. if we don't change and play 1 big. I think Lyles comes off the bench. the wild card of development will be if Lyles works on his ball handling, and lateral quickness and becomes a 6'8 SF. if that happens then I think the Zips have a chance at the 2nd weekend if March! and Lyles will have a legit shot at that NBA! after last offseason development jump he had. I think it is possible that kid is hungry!
