   Those are big numbers. Has anyone had any luck finding box scores or even a roster for the Ohio team to know what caliber of player CM's playing with / against?I spent a little bit of googling hoping to find a tournament site, but no luck so far.

That is absolutely Romeo .. he's been sighted a few times during the playoff run.

Zips Drafted to Play North American Pro Hoops

Not as young as I'd like to be.I remember lots of things .. not sure where you're going with this, but I remember the old Cleveland Arena too.I'll say it again. Lenny was never the player coach of the Cavs .. played in the early 70's .. coached in the 80's.Feel free to look it up. -

My point is that Lenny Wilkens was the player coach of the Sonics .. but actually once I went to confirm it, he was the player coach of Portland. Never coached the Cavaliers as the player-coach.I made no comment about Paul. -

I assume you mean Seattle, not Cleveland? -
Fun Column Features Jerome Lane, Jakubik & others

I have an acquaintance that played DI / DII college ball and who still kicks around in the men's leagues in Akron now and again. According to this guy, Joe was still the best baller in all of Akron even up to 2 years ago. I think he suffered an ACL or MCL injury a year or so ago .. but they say he still couldn't be stopped. -
Clearly the new gym would need to be called the Woodshed.

Nice to see you!

If Continental would just keep their non-stop to Seattle a little longer, then this trip would be way more manageable. One stop, 2 ~4hr flights. .. could stay in SEA for a day to break the trip up.Needing 2 stops to get there really sucks.Hey Z-P how about running a direct charter with your Pinto? It's got wings, right?

I didn't see a whole lot you could do there (only so much can be done with 2 hours of daylight and highs in the 20's), but at a minimum your 3-year-old can play with my 3- and 5-year-olds. My wife and I decided this is the perfect use for our frequent flyer miles.Anyone know at what hotel the Zips will be staying? This might happen. I have a little convincing to do .. but I'm trying to make this work for us.Bird, were you hanging w/ Z-Pouch after the MACC in Detroit 2 years ago?

Anyone know what a 3 year old can do in Fairbanks in November? Seems like most of the activities up there shut down in September. If I can find stuff to do w/ the family outside of the games .. I'm gonna try and make this trip.

That's disappointing. I have to wonder if eligibility was a factor in this decision.

I'm wondering how to get seats up in the club level. That's where I sat for the BG WISC game last season & was the best place to be in the yar.

The question I have is who, if anyone will get redshirted? Seems like B McKnight might be the odd man out as a Frosh. Hard to believe they'd consider sitting him, but there just might not be minutes for him to make it worth keeping him active.Sort of like wishing that Quade had been redshirted I guess, but I'm thinking the roster is crowded a bit. Great problem to have, since all of the scholie players, and some of the walkons, are legit DI players.Nice change, I'd say. Put 'em on Zips fans!

Considering the situation next season with the Zips and how it relates to conference play, I don't see how this hurts the Zips.Teams now will have to consider either playing Jeremiah straight up .. playing a zone, or bringing the double team from the weakside baseline. It's going to take too much to double down, so they're going to have to double over. Assuming one of either Swiech or Bardo can move to the hoop without traveling or falling down, I think that guy has lots of open looks coming to him from inside 8 feet. J Wood is VERY good at recognizing the double and passing out of it .. and his interior passing has been good. If he's getting doubled across the lane, the weakside 5 man is gonna get some good shots. If they hit them .. then you've got J Wood being defended one on one .. and in its current state, I don't think the league has too many guys who can win that situation.

Agreed. Seemed like John was coming around. He contributed well to the team during the last 2 weeks. Seemed like a nice kid and I thought would end up being a good spot up shooter in the next 2 years.Best of luck to him in Texas.

Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Mollaut:Is this guy looking to walk on at Miami, or do you guys still have one available? At this point, he'd have to be paying his own way (not a big deal I imagine) to be a Zip. Are the 'hawks still filling spots for 07-08?Thanks for the link.

Another Big Basketball Recruit
Zip Watcher replied to skip-zip's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
I'll clarify (restate) what I said above:Sullivan was the Lake & Geauga county POY in the PD. He was not the PD area player of the year .. he won top honors for those counties. I'm not sure where he landed on any All-Area PD teams. -
Another Big Basketball Recruit
Zip Watcher replied to skip-zip's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
Well, I can't find the guy at either Rivals or Scout .. so it's tough to gage what caliber of player he might be. All State Honors (special mention as a Soph & 3rd Team D1 as a Junior) are pretty good indicators I would guess.FYI, he was the PD's Lake/Geauga Player of the Year in 06/07.What's more? Dude's got his own website. You can be hit #25 if you click on this link quick enough:See some stats & other info @ Sullivan's website. -
Eric Coblentz speaking to Dambrot
Zip Watcher replied to Blue & Gold's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
Both Roberts and Jeter would have to be walkons to be here next year. Then maybe one would use one of the opening scholi's after CM & co. graduate. There's another walkon that redshirted this year who you're missing: Leomeister. Didn't get the first name, but bigger kid, who was on the team and recognized at the banquet the other night. If you remember one game this season, CM had to change the jersey at half time and came out wearing #43 - Leomeister. -
Zips to get a football transfer for Basketball?
Zip Watcher replied to zff's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
He'd be paying his own way in 07-08 due to the scholi limit, right? Then he'd use one of the 4 that open up for '08?Interesting stuff. We know that KD wanted Jeter the first time around.
