  1. Not sure why all the hand wringing about a log jam at the point. We just lost a 4 year starter. We've had some nice points over the years .. but this was our first STABLE hold down of the position in a while. We certainly aren't overflowing @ point, even with the Humpty signing. While he does appear a good talent .. he is not rated as highly as Steward .. yet. There are 13 scholi spots .. so if I consider that, I think having 2 top flight pure points makes tons of sense. With 13 scholi spots, I think you isolate about 6 to the guard positions .. at an absolute minimum 5, with a swing man (2 / 3) mixed in.So inside 5 scholi spots, I think you have 2 pure points, and 2 shooters .. and maybe one crossover / combo guy. This year we have: Steward, McNees, Middleton, Dials, and I would argue Conyers as a guard. That's actually 1 pure point (Steward), 3 crossover guys (in our current league) in McNees, Middleton & Dials ... and one big guard not suited to play point .. Conyers.Next year we'll have 2 pure points (Steward & Hitchens), 1 combo (McNees) and one big guard (Conyers). It remains to be seen where B. McKnight fits (2 or 3?) and Roberts is an unknown at this point. If Roberts is in the mix and capable, maybe we'll see Humpty redshirted, which would give us 2 year overlap from Steward to Humpty .. and a really smooth transition at the point, with capable talent ..To me, that's not a logjam .. that's another step in establishing consistency and depth in the program. The thing we all need to realize is this: The days of having 5-6 solid D1 players, with a bunch of role players to fill out the roster are OVER. We're now at the point where our 13 scholi players are *almost* all solid D1 mid-major or higher talents. And we have walkons who had D1 offers.I can't find any way in which this is a bad thing.I wonder .. is there a Burger King in Chillicothe? Must be, right? This has enormous possibilities. Put 'em on Zips fans!!
  2. Digital Underground comeback anyone?
  3. My kid LOVES Humpty .. he's going to love seeing Humpty, Zippy and Jimmy (big Hoosiers movie fan) at the same time. Nirvana!
  4. Can someone in attendance shed some light on all the renderings that were on easles? There's only 7 shots on the web page, but it seemed like there were many more at the press conference.Would sure like to see all those renderings from HNTB.
  5. Isn't it BOTH?It looks to me that below ground level, there are seats on both sides & the grass in the endzones .. and then the grandstands rise above ground level .. slightly on the east, and more on the west w/ the press box.Seems to me the lower section is a bowl .. seats not all the way around .. but this isn't the Doyt or anything like this.. when you enter the stadium, the field appears to be below grade, right?
  6. To say nothing about how insulting or presumptive it is to suggest a handicapped kid would even CONSIDER being a flush fan.
  7. MODERATOR EDIT: I have removed 2 of these that I think are of dubious taste. If you want to linky them up to something else .. fine, but I won't have those 2 live here at ZN.O
  8.   Those are big numbers. Has anyone had any luck finding box scores or even a roster for the Ohio team to know what caliber of player CM's playing with / against?I spent a little bit of googling hoping to find a tournament site, but no luck so far.
  9. Quite serious. A major upgrade is in the works. Stay tuned to this channel for more details.
  10. I think he is! .. wonder if he's got VIP access or something.
  11. That is absolutely Romeo .. he's been sighted a few times during the playoff run.
  12. Be careful of that windmill bobby, it can really get in your way.
  13. Not as young as I'd like to be.I remember lots of things .. not sure where you're going with this, but I remember the old Cleveland Arena too.I'll say it again. Lenny was never the player coach of the Cavs .. played in the early 70's .. coached in the 80's.Feel free to look it up.
  14. My point is that Lenny Wilkens was the player coach of the Sonics .. but actually once I went to confirm it, he was the player coach of Portland. Never coached the Cavaliers as the player-coach.I made no comment about Paul.
  15. I assume you mean Seattle, not Cleveland?
  16. I have an acquaintance that played DI / DII college ball and who still kicks around in the men's leagues in Akron now and again. According to this guy, Joe was still the best baller in all of Akron even up to 2 years ago. I think he suffered an ACL or MCL injury a year or so ago .. but they say he still couldn't be stopped.
  17. Clearly the new gym would need to be called the Woodshed.
  18. If Continental would just keep their non-stop to Seattle a little longer, then this trip would be way more manageable. One stop, 2 ~4hr flights. .. could stay in SEA for a day to break the trip up.Needing 2 stops to get there really sucks.Hey Z-P how about running a direct charter with your Pinto? It's got wings, right?
  19. I didn't see a whole lot you could do there (only so much can be done with 2 hours of daylight and highs in the 20's), but at a minimum your 3-year-old can play with my 3- and 5-year-olds. My wife and I decided this is the perfect use for our frequent flyer miles.Anyone know at what hotel the Zips will be staying? This might happen. I have a little convincing to do .. but I'm trying to make this work for us.Bird, were you hanging w/ Z-Pouch after the MACC in Detroit 2 years ago?
  20. Anyone know what a 3 year old can do in Fairbanks in November? Seems like most of the activities up there shut down in September. If I can find stuff to do w/ the family outside of the games .. I'm gonna try and make this trip.
  21. That's disappointing. I have to wonder if eligibility was a factor in this decision.
  22. I'm wondering how to get seats up in the club level. That's where I sat for the BG WISC game last season & was the best place to be in the yar.
  23. The question I have is who, if anyone will get redshirted? Seems like B McKnight might be the odd man out as a Frosh. Hard to believe they'd consider sitting him, but there just might not be minutes for him to make it worth keeping him active.Sort of like wishing that Quade had been redshirted I guess, but I'm thinking the roster is crowded a bit. Great problem to have, since all of the scholie players, and some of the walkons, are legit DI players.Nice change, I'd say. Put 'em on Zips fans!
