  1. Click me (I agree with him, BTW)
  2. If Harvey was on the Zips roster this fall, I would be shocked.(artist's rendering of me after hearing David Harvey was on our fall 2007 roster)
  3. How many fewer games would the Cavs have won last year if Romeo, @ $375,000/yr, was on their team instead of Ira Newble or Scott Pollard @ $4,000,000/yr?I'm guessing it wouldn't have made any difference. Except they'd have $3,625,000 extra to spend on a point guard.
  4. Well, on the one hand, it might allow the stands to be a bit closer to the field than if it were fit for futbol. And, it increases the odds that the new stadium will have an artificial surface like field turf. Has anyone heard anything on this "ground".ZIP I would be absolutely shocked if the new stadium turf were anything but field turf. How else could you hold the 100+ events/yr that there're talking about? I'm sure a lot of HS games will be played there. No way you could do that with grass. Unless...you were stupid like the Steelers and wanted to play in a sod chunk fest every week.Even OSU is going to field turf.
  5. A 55 million dollar stadium is a pretty major deal. And the eminent domain issues add some legal complexities. A premature announcement could jeopardize the Sept 2009 opening and also add some costs. The announcement will be made in August. By then everything should be finalized.
  6. Just to add a little more on Ryan Bain:When when word got out that he wanted to transfer, by the time the Zips had caught wind, he was very close to a commitment to Colorado State. The Zips coach responsible for the Illinois region had a good relationship with Bain's coach at Bolingbrook and let him know the Zips had an urgent need at the DL. Bain checked out the Zips program and liked what he saw. The rest is history. He's going to be a huge addition to our team in 2008. He also had a lot of interest from Cincinnati.
  7. I've heard he might be leaning towards Akron? It would be an awesome signing for the Zips if it is true. He's arguably the top HS RB in Akron this upcoming season. 4.4 forty and about 210 lbs. Has anyone heard similar rumblings?Click for Bio
  8. Then prove it on the field. We'll pay you $125,000 to do so. Hell...it is probably up to $175,000 by now.
  9. ...and when the coach-pitch league offers you $125,000 to play a game, make sure you decline the offer...then grouse about how they never play against you. Then post some highly relevant pictures of a sweet T-ball stadium in Appalachia.
  10. I am told that rumor is untrue.
  11. The 2006-7 Drexel team had a monster schedule, and beat Villanova, Creighton and Syracuse on the road. They won 23 games, had a 39 RPI...and didn't make it.I don't think there is a schedule possible that would guarantee any mid-major an NCAA at-large berth anymore.I love the schedule. It gives us a fighting chance for the post-season.
  12. K.e.n.t Fan responds to the $500.00 fee. Most don't seem to mind. They shouldn't. They're probably the highest level basketball program that, to date, didn't have such fees for their better seats.
  13. Nice to see the event won't conflict with football tailgating this year!
  14. Joe Novak is a great coach. His teams are consistently in the hunt for MAC championships. In 2003 he beat Maryland (#24), Alabama and Iowa State to start the season.Iowa lost 7 of their final 9 games in 2006. If you think a crappy Iowa team blows-out a Novak-coached team on a neutral site, you're nuts.
  15. 19k would be a great size for a Division 1 football stadium.
  16. I'm not ecstatic only because we need to wait a year before he can suit up. Getting a DL of his caliber is a great addition.
  17. I love my alma mater...but if I had a chance to play football in Hawai'i I'd have a difficult time turning that one down. 85 degrees and sunny in December, or turning the corner onto Exchange by Plasma Alliance when it is 0 degrees with a -25 windchill....AH LOW HA, baby! If he selected Miami OH or Toledo over the Zips, then I'd be a bit miffed.
  18. Looks like K.e.n.t. is going to finally institute a donation fee for their lower-reserved seating. And it looks like the Zips will raise theirs this season from $500.00 per seat to $750 per seat. Great Hoogly MoogleyIf there is a waiting list for lower-reserved seating then I guess you've got to raise the price of admission? Better be a damn good home schedule in 2007-8. It is a shame that those who have paid the prime $$ and sat through Derrick Tarver and Bryan Hipsher are getting milked now that the team is good, but that's the way it goes.
  19. Click: I was there. Were you?As the crowd chanted:"LEFT-WITCH....OUR BITCH...LEFT-WITCH...OUR BITCH..."And the next day the immortal animated .gif debuted:
  20. ZipsNation doesn't accept advertising, but I wanted to pass this site along. It can be tough to find decent Zips clothing. I've bought several jerseys from them. They are VERY nice and reasonably priced.Click for Clothes
