  1. Double oaked! Makes the all time greatest Old Fashioned!
  2. I wish the Zips the best...but I'm sticking with Wooford Reserve.
  3. Setting up to tailgate at 9am. šŸ‘Ž
  4. Looked like there were two Arby’s logos on the shirt?
  5. If you like watching rich kids steal from the homeless…
  6. One last note on the Gruden diatribe - he mentioned Ara Parseghian as a Zip?! He was born in Akron, and enrolled at Akron, but didn’t attend classes…he instead enlisted in the Army (WWll). Dwight Smith wins him a Super Bowl and he pimps Ara Parseghian?
  7. You know Akron had to have written the teleprompter script. Why does Gruden avoid mentioning Dwight Smith? No way it’s just an accidental oversight.
  8. Zips flag flying in the Midway fairgrounds parking lot. Reminds me of the good old rubber bowl days in Akron. We’re the only ones here in a grass lot that could fit 5000 cars.šŸ˜€
  9. I’ll go 41-13 Wake Unlike when we beat NC State 20 years ago, we won’t have a 4th year Pittsburgh transfer, returning MAC Championship QB + a ring of honor WR to rely on. We’ll have a redshirt freshman in his first start and a bevy of WR’s who’ve never caught one of his passes in a real game. Broughton is a QB that can make things happen with his arm, and more-likely his legs. Tough kid. That’s why I see him as #1, and Ruggow #2. If we’re to have a shot, CB will need to channel his inner Armanti Edwards…or Kyle Pohl.
  10. When I began my professional career in 1989 my mandatory attire was: Dry clean only pants Button down long sleeved shirt Dress socks, belt and dress shoes. And you better have your ass in your seat, ready to work at 8 am Today: Blue jeans are fine Untucked shirt is fine Sneakers are fine If you roll in the office at 9am and leave at 4 pm...you're working harder than most Two or three days a week you can work from home in pajama bottoms and a stained tee shirt Untucked football uniform? Meh...it's 2026.
  11. It's about that time...time to start talking about the Zips upcoming opponent. I will be traveling to Winston-Salem for the game. What the heck...it should be good weather and a great time. We'll hit Asheville for an extended weekend afterwards. Will my trip to Lourdes France bring the miracle we need to get Poffenbarger eligible, or has the Cibastian Broughton Era gotten off to an earlier-than-expected start?
  12. I have heard from a few different sources that is doesn't look good for Reese to be the Zips QB this fall. Maybe something changes...but as of 8/24/26...it doesn't look good.
  13. If Butchie Washington has kept himself in shape, shoot 'em a text and gauge his interest.
  14. Paraphrasing Jerry Tarkanian - "The NCAA was so mad at Texas Tech they put Akron on probation for 5 years."
  15. I heard Goodrich will be introducing a cool new contest to follow up the OC Promotion - "Hey Zips fans - YOU can quarterback the Zips for the Wake Forest Game" I can't provide any further details...I'm sworn to secresy.
  16. I’m out of town so I couldn’t attend.
  17. Any chance you could pass along the details? The wife and I will be at the game. I checked my emails, and the alumni web site, and couldn't find anything.
  18. Man, I miss Charles Guthrie. Goodrich is just riding his predecessors marketing wave.šŸ™„
  19. Too bad @Zipmeister is seemingly on an extended hiatus...this is his chance to force the Zips to throw to the TE on at least 3 successive plays.
  20. I’m sure it’s possible. PM me and I can call UA on Monday. @HoopsFan03 - would you like to play with LGZ and his pops?
  21. I’m considering playing if we can get a ZN foursome together. If @HoopsFan03 still wants to play, we’d need 2 more. Any takers?
  22. Everything is impossible...until someone does it. No one has ever actually tried to fill a Zips football stadium since Mike Waddell back in the early 2000's. "Build it and they will come." It's that simple, huh? Who knew you'd actually need to exert an effort to bring people to Infocision in respectable, profit-bearing numbers? Guthrie prioritized his grammar school-level Graphic Designer skills over expending any effort to address it. Others were let off the hook the day Scarborough lazily claimed "I wouldn't have built that stadium" (so the empty seats aren't my fault). That's a really easy, one-size-fits-all excuse way to avoid tackling the issue. Valid for a lifetime. If Goodrich publicly states he's going to fill the stadium, that's infinitely better than anything I've seen in the past 2 decades. It takes guts...guts that the Rhodes, Helsel, Wistercill, Williams and Guthrie's never showed. I trust that he has a decent plan. If it doesn't sell out, the increased attendance over recent history will still be noteworthy.
