  1. I think we're all tremendously dissappointed in the OL. This is the first year that I can remember that I thought we were actually going to have a dominating OL. I was worried about next year, us losing the entire OL and all. But the way things have gone thus far, we need new guys out there. The OL is just getting absolutely destroyed.
kinda like in 2004 when they were all seniors. charlie got his yards passing and biggs ran wild but it wasn't due to the offensive line play, it was inspite of their play. that was a dissappointing line too.
  2. as for fan support there is no guy on the fence. those people left after Can't beat us up. the people that will show up are the ones that have supported the zips all the time.
sad but true. especially with the buckeyes destroying iowa and being ranked number one. watch out for the Can't fans to come out of the woodwork like the akron fence sitters did last year. this is gonna hurt.
  3. i would like to have seen the second teamers in the fourth quarter against Can't and north texas. both game's outcomes were clearly determined midway through the fourth.so far this year, our second team o has a total of one snap.....as far as the o-line goes, changes are desperately needed. no inside running game or pass protection. i think schepp needs to be somewhere on the line at all times. kemme is an improvement on the left side where he'll play the next two years anyhow. anderson is a big, strong, young kid that needs some playing time and he'll be a monster in the future. abandon the ship? no. give some young guys a chance to show what they can do when the vets aren't getting it done.

  4. Bottom line is that Brookhart has to become a much better coach in all its aspects. On September 30th the Zips did not demonstrate being a well-coached team in their focus, execution and game situation awareness. But then there is always the rest of the schedule for Brookhart to show improvement.
i can't argue that either. it was a total loss by both the staff and players. a true team effort.
  5. i'm not saying the sky is falling but i saw nothing today to make me think that k e n t wouldn't dominate a series with us. this was a flat out ass kicking. now it's time to see if we respond like we did after the army game last year or if we shrivel up and die. i don't see quit in the team, even when getting their asses handed to them.

  6. some of the players look like they have no concept of basic football, like playing until the whistle blows or how to catch a pass, or make a tackle, or throw a block. JD is my man but i wondered when watching this game just how well coached some of these players are. too many stupid mistakes and penalties. i'm not too fond of a lot of the play calling, but what do i know?

  7. It is going to be impossible to win games if we cannot kick extra points and field goals from 35 yds and in. :wall:
or snap a long snap, or block for a punter, or cover onsides kicks. the only aspect of our "special" teams worth a damn right now are the returns. harvey is outstanding returning kick offs and we actually field punts now. unless we correct the "special" teams problems, we can kiss another mac championship good-bye.
  8. special teams are horrible. igor being hurt is killing us, assuming he really is as good as advertised. domonkos is a walk on, i believe. what more can we really expect from a walk on, non-scholarship kicker? missed extra points, blocked punt, poor return coverage, long snapping problems. we had a return team member just stand there after catching a kick off and not know what to do. i rarely question JD but i think it's time for a special teams coach.

  9. i think these guys can all play well but it seems to me that it's rare that all 5 are playing well at the same time. one guy will step up and have a good game and another will play poorly, then the next game someone else will play well and another will have a bad game. these guys have been playing together as a unit for over a season now, i'd think there would be better chemistry between them as a unit than what we're seeing.

  10. this is a guy who led us to the mac championship. the problem is we were stopped near the goal line, and then jd went for it on 4th down.luke can not block or run the ball.
but he has to make an easy pass to a wide open full back in the end zone and not over throw him. it's not all luke and i am not saying to change quarterbacks by any means. there has to be a lot more to this than we know.
