  1. Mabye we can get his brother to coach. He is the track coach at Hoban and was actually the better runner in high school. I think he would do it.
you're kidding right? the only thing that kept harry from being a state champ in four events was an injury before the state meet his senior season. i've never seeen a better track star in high school than harry..butch, whatever.
  2. i happened to notice in the media guide that the zips have a speed coach, chiropractor, and a nutritionist listed for the first time among the staff. did they always have these people and just never listed them in the media guide or are these new positions that JD created?

  3. i've never complained about the price of a ticket. it's a great bargain. but when i have to pay an increase of 1,900% to park in the same place i parked last year, i'm going to rightfully complain. and little joey, parking is a worry of mine due to the fact of many of us had big tailgate parties planned where we parked and had them last year. not everyone involved is able to walk from the general parking lot. people that parked in the old blue lot parked there for a reason so quit trying to sell me shit and tell me it's sugar. ticket prices, great; parking situation, sucks.

  4. i've always thought that admission to akron u sporting events was the best kept secret around. i sure as hell am not bitching about that. i have no problem with the cost of season tickets and even feel that parking passes at $25 was a steal. i just feel that the huge increase in the parking passes and the sneaky way it was done was really a low class move to us relatively few loyal fans. the rubber bowl is not going to sell put this year. akron has always been an ohio state/notre dame town, as most towns in ohio are. miami has a beautiful facility and a great tradittion and that stadium was half empty when we played them there last year. i would love to see the rubber bowl sell out every game but it ain't gonna happen anytime soon. god forbid we have a lot of injuries and a poor season this year. who is going to support a multi-million dollar stadium for a fan base of 5,000 asides from us who go to the games? i think it's great that the tickets are cheaper this year for those "cheap bastards in northeast ohio" and actually i can't argue too much against that lable. i admit i stayed away after graduation for a long time until i came out to see the zips again a few years ago and i was hooked. i don't like the way this parking situation was handled, is what it comes down to. from what i've heard, pat kreger is a good guy. i feel he just handled this poorly and because of that may have caused some of us to question (fairly or unfairly) his abilities in other areas. for all i know, he's a genius in what he does outside of the parking situation. just don't forget your loyal base, those who are there tailgating and staying for the award presentation on the coldest goddamned day of the year last november.

  5. i'll complain about what i want to complain about. i parked in lot 1 and am pissed about an attempt to gouge me out of $500. i'm pissed about cancelling plans for big tailgating parties in lot 1 like we had last year. most of us don't have corporate sponsors to pay for our tickets or parking spaces. we're the ones working so the management can make the money to give for these "priveleges". i'd be very happy to be wrong about the current administration and be the first to admit it and apologize. i want what's best for not only the team but for us fans. i don't think this is it.

  6. i have a friend who was a 22 yr season ticket holder and a neighbor who was a 27 yr holder. neither are renewing their seats over this. i paid for mine last spring and am a big supporter of what JD is doing, otherwise there would be another non-renewal........and by the way pat, or whoever iheartkerriker is, 25 years of winning at miami doesn't count as tradition? i guess we'll never have any tradition until our grandchildren have grandchildren. bad agrument.

  7. all i know is that miami of florida is always a national title contender and the orange bowl was never sold out unless miami was playing florida state or florida. we bring in a guy who can't sell out miami's home stadium? yes, i know thomas brought him in as a fundraiser. how hard can it be to raise money where half of your alumni play in the NFL and the other half are doctors and lawyers?

  8. i parked in "lot 1". hell, we were the only ones up there tailgating during the thanksgiving blizzard. we took turns holding the canopy down and eating. tailgating up there was something i was really looking forward to this year but there is no way i am going to be extorted into paying $525 to do it . we'll tailgate at my house and walk two blocks over to the rubber bowl. just another great idea by this crew, kinda like moving zips live from a nice place like the lizard to a dump in the valley. maybe next year they can move it to the "bottoms up" on grant street.
