I agree there should be civil discussion of the upcoming game but it wasn't long ago that one of them came on here instructing us to bow down to them and quit siphoning off state resources that could make them be more like UM. http://zipsnation.org/index.php?showtopic=...indpost&p=42021 Maybe they're the ones that have a (God) complex.Appie St. 34 Michigan 32. Still a little patronizing if you ask me. And not every seat in the lower bowl is good for watching a game. My seat was in the corner of the end zone down low but I watched most of the game standing on the decking above the corner sections. I would have rather had an upper deck seat. And there was not an option of "spreading out" as they had attendants in every section for the entire game checking peoples tickets. That should be our last Patriot Bowl...once our stadium is built there won't be any good reason to play in Cleveland again. Pathetic showing in terms of attendance.
It was a good crowd. The game was "away" on a holiday weekend. The cheapest tix were $15 and those sold out. I think they were in the end zone which was pretty full but the better seats cost a lot more and so remained emptier which you saw on TV. People aren't going to pay $30 ea. for a family to watch mid-major ball. It was the most Zips shirts & hats I've seen being worn in one place and they were selling a bunch more at halftime. We have the beginnings of a solid fan base and they will come to the new stadium. Consistent winning will add the bandwagon fans. I think we will be averaging 25K in 2 years easily.

The way I'm reading that is there will be some type of food (burgers & hotdogs?) at the "regular" tailgate party and then a separate VIP tailgate/buffet for $25. You could always hang out there for a while and then go somewhere nearby for a pregame meal if you want something other than what they have. The buffet sounds good but a tank of gas plus game tickets plus $25/head meal starts adding up quick :blink: If you call the ticket office number given maybe someone would know exactly what's on the menu.
We are coming to the game from PA with teenagers, and don't know Cleveland at all. This seems like an answer to where to have dinner besides overpriced stadium food. I don't know. I really dislike telemarketers calling...I wouldn't want the community to become annoyed by this. If we're offering deep-discount tickets/packages I guess it would be worth it. I wish they could do Zips-minute spots on the radio with brief replays, player/coach comments, a little info on the next opponent, things to give the public a little knowledge of the team and get them interested and not just "Hey everybody, go to the Zips game...pleeeeze?!"

Thanks for the info on this goober. As far as I'm concerned, he's welcome here anytime...he makes The Central Ohio Regional University look ridiculous and gives us a chance to tout our school. You just wonder if he's really that far gone or just likes pushing people's buttons. Maybe he actually hates Tosu and is just posing as a pompous a$$...you just don't know. His posts are entertaining to read though, how we're egotistical for supposedly wanting to be like Tosu...does anyone else find that ironic and/or twisted? That said, going back to the original thread topic, it will be interesting to see how Strickland goes about trying to develop a state univ. system. It appears he is making the rounds planting the seeds and softening up the schools to fall in line. Although they may be buckeye football fans, I don't think most Ohio voters are going to appreciate the redistribution of their tax dollars from Akron, Toledo, Cincinnati, etc. to the Columbus Kingdom.

I was one of the few that were there. The saddest thing about it to me was that night there was a HS playoff game which I think was a Mass./McK. rematch with probably 40K (really) in attendance, that is, after they got through the stand-still traffic jam on I-77.I didn't make it to the Leftwich/Marshall games but I was there for Alcorn's kick to beat Toledo so that was probably my best recollection. One of the early Faust games featured the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders at halftime so that wasn't bad either3) The Ugly - Few were there in 1994 when Ohio U and the Zips met in the final game of the seaosn with a combined ZERO (wins) and TWENTY (losses) record!! It was both Tom Lichtenberg and Gerry Faust's final game at their respective schools, with UA winning 24-10 and Faust being carried off the field by his players
I don't know what they'll do with the RB but I think it's for real that they'll have to leave the east side stands and closed-end intact as a retaining wall, maybe dress it up with decorative stone or something. It would be cool to leave the big RUBBER BOWL lettering up there as a monument. The west side and press box should come down but possibly the field itself could be preserved and used for soccer, basketball courts, etc. A skate park isn't a bad idea either or is there already one over there next to the BMX trails?Oh well, there's still a couple years to figure it out and the Zips need to make a few more good memories there in the meantime. I think before the final game they should have an open house and let everyone go into the press box, locker rooms, etc.

Wayne Anderson was an excellent nose guard and I liked Harold Robinson as a WR/KR, always a threat to run back a kick all the way. I would give Dwight Smith the benefit of the doubt since he was our only All-American (Phil Dunn was a freshman AA). Bill Rudison could really sail his punts, he was fun to watch in pre-game warmups. Darren Alcorn was drafted as Mr. Irrelevant (last pick) but it's pretty tough to get a kicking job in the NFL since the good ones stick around for so long. I remember Shannon Wolfe getting beat on a long pass, never even looking back for the ball, then picking himself up off the ground, looking to the coaches and throwing his hands up in the air in frustration...I was never too impressed with him after that.

No need to investigate, there was no malfunction...I'm just going with a different ID to avoid confusion with someone else who chose an ID similar to my old one. I guess it's bound to happen when the total member count gets up to 2200+ but it was time for a change anyway.Just curious, will there be a new look or new features with the upgrade or is it more of a maintenance thing?

If Strickland wants to shutter grad programs to further subsidize undergrad tuition then so be it, but do it fairly and evenly across the system, including Tosu.
